Anima: A Hunter x hunter OC Insert

Sorry that I haven't been updating. I will start updating more often. I will probably be updating around each week. Can you guys tell be if you guys actually enjoy reading this? 

Akari POV

"Well is everyone rested up? The hunter examination committee runs this hotel. This place is yours until the battles have concluded. For the final phase, we will be having a one on one tournament." Netero explained and pulled off the cloth from the canvas with the bracket on it.

"So only one passes?" Leorio asked.

"No only one win is needed to pass. The winner will be taken off the bracket while the loser continues on to the next battle." Netero explained, "In other words, the person who finishes at the top will not pass. Does everyone understand?" 

"So you're saying only one person will fail?" Hanzo asked crossing his arms.

"Yes, now here is the bracket." Netero ripped off the piece of paper that was covering the pictures of the examines.

Now, what did Netero have in mind? Gon against Hanzo and Kurapika against Hisoka. I know they will figure out a way to pass but let's hope they do a great job anyways.

"Excuse me?" I heard Pokkle say

"What is it?" Netero asked

"Why is the girl not on the chart?" He asked. This made everyone look at me in disbelief and confusion.

"The way I set up this chart would have not worked the way I wanted if there were 10 applicants, so she took a different test and passed making her a hunter.

I smiled and showed them my license as proof. They all jaw dropped as I smirked at them. 

Netero continued to answer the other questions and explain the battle more in detail. I was not paying much attention, but that's when I heard a voice in my head. I listened to it very carefully because it was faint and felt far away. "Akari..." 

It's Kumo!! I haven't talked to him in forever

"Akari, I'm free." I heard Kumo say happily.

I was ecstatic. He is finally out of that hell! I can see him again. I need to go! I looked around and saw a large open window right behind me. I quickly ran to it and jumped out of it. 

"Can you tell me where you are?" I asked him as I ran. "I'm pretty far from you. Right now I'm just following your telepathic signal"

"Umm, I'm a 4 day run away from hell going north." He said

"Ok. I'm pretty sure there's a town about a days run for you north and a day and a half for me east. Does that sound good to you?" I asked him hoping that he can figure out how to get there. "Yeah sounds good sis. Also, I escaped with a friend. His name is Nate." He explained. I felt him join the conversation. "Hello, Kumo has told me a lot about you," Nate said. "Hi, Nate. you have anima too right?" I asked, "Yeah, I'm a tiger." He said, "That's cool, how did you guys escape?" 

"Right after you left they sealed up that window, but we found another way out. We went through the air vents until we were outside." Kumo explained.

"Isn't their surveillance cameras?" I wondered.

"Yes, but we made a team within the facility. We had another friend knock out the guy watching the surveillance footage and all the other captives helped out by causing a distraction and the guards with us left to go help the others." Nate continued. 

"All the people in the team agreed to help free us with the promise that we will get come back and help them out," Kumo added.

"That's awesome, everyone will be free!" I cheered causing them to chuckle. 

"So, what have you been doing all this time?" Kumo asked with curiosity. 

"Well after I left I met this wonderful gourmet hunter named Menchi. She took me in and introduced me to the chairman Netero and other hunters." I say

"Whats a hunter?" Nate asked with confusion laced in his voice. 

"Oh ya sorry, It's a person who gets a card once you pass an exam. This card allows you to travel where most people can't because of rules or whatever. They can do all kinds of things and stuff." I tried to explain.

  "Anyway those people trained me to fight and taught me regular things about the world. Later on, I left them to travel on my own. I made some friends, Jacob, Aryanna, Hanna, and Ging. They're wonderful people and I will tell you more about them later if you want. I also took the hunter exam to become a hunter and get the card that I told you about earlier. " They mentally hum in understanding and I continue telling them more about what has happened lately. I could feel that they were enjoying my stories and hearing about my adventures. This made me overjoyed. "Oh shoot." I thought back to how I left the hunter exam.

"What happened?" Kumo asked worriedly. "During the last phase, I just ran out of the window with no explanation. I didn't tell them anything. I'm so stupid." I cursed at myself. 

"I'm sure they will understand." Kumo soothed. I felt a calming presence that he 'sent'. 

"Thanks," I said after I calmed down. "They know about anima right?"

 "Yeah"

 "Then contact them," Nate suggested. I'm sure they felt my worry about them when they told me. "We will be fine on our own. Go contact them and explain what happened." 

"O- Ok" I reply cutting off the link. I hope they're not mad at me.

I thought about them as I continued to run towards Kumo. I think Kurapika will be the best person to tell right now considering that his battle is later on and he is more level headed than Leorio. 

I took a deep breath and made a link. "Hey, Kurapika," I say softly attempting not to startle him.

  "Akari! You scared me. Why did you run out the window like that?" He asked me a flurry of questions and I slightly wince, quickly saying, "I'm sorry about that. I will meet up with you guys after the exam though. I left because my brother contacted me and I need to meet up with him sooner rather than later." I tried to explain trying not to say anything about hell yet. "You have a brother?!" He yelled making my head hurt. "Yes. We are meeting up at a town east from here. If any of the four guys want a proper explanation you can meet us there after the exam." I say

"Wait why didn't you contact the others too?" He asked calming down "I figured it will be best to contact you because your more level headed than Leorio and Gon and Killua have their battles earlier on. Killua will probably get angry at me too." I say imagining him yelling at me. "Good call" He sighed

"When the others are calm and not busy can you tell them what I told you?" I asked

"Sure I will, but I have to go now. My battle is up next." He said. 

"Ok good luck"

I ended the link and sighed. Thank god that went well.
