Chapter Four - Vicious Circle

We walked into a well decorated office his father sat behind his desk with a cigar between his fingers "ah son, Lilly good to see you both" he said standing up to greet us his warm exterior was all around the room like air freshener "so, let's talk business" he said sitting back down "before you say anything, Lill's and I are engaged so my position is safe" Dante said and I felt like I had hit a brick wall I always thought I'd marry for love not to keep a spot in a mafia no Dante hasn't told me he's the mafia but I'm not stupid he's the Sicilian mafia which is even bigger than my families.

"You okay amore?" Dante said and pulled me out of my thoughts "yeah, fine what were you saying?" "I asked when is the wedding?" his father said "in a month" Dante responded "good if all the arrangements are in order, you better tell your mother" "I forgot about ma" he said "come on Lill's let's go get some lunch" he said and we said bye to his father and walked down a large corridor.

Then Dante grabbed my arm and pulled me into an empty board room and kissed me "someone might come in here Dante" I said through our kiss "I don't care, I need you right now" he said unbuttoning my shirt and lifting me up onto the desk we were both so caught up in the steaminess that we didn't think of anything else especially any consequences.

One month later.

I woke up feeling really sick I laid in bed for a minute but my mouth was dry and I was going to throw up I ran to the bathroom as fast as I could, why was I so sick I thought to myself "baby are you okay?" Dante said walking into the bathroom there's only one explanation for this oh god "Dante, I think!" he knew exactly what I was going to say "I think I'm pregnant" I said "what do we do?" he said and tears started rolling down my cheeks "please don't cry baby" I wasn't crying out of sadness I was happy but I knew he wasn't he's a mafia boss he's not ready for kids.

Dante's POV: I had to see my brother and cousin I met up with them at the bar "so cugino, what's the news?" Nico said "Lill's is pregnant" I said "oh shit I didn't expect that!" Luca said "what are you gonna do cugino?" "I need to go see Lilly" I said and left.

Luca's POV: my brother was going to be a father how is he going to handle this "he's not going to step up is he Luc?" Nico said to me "let's hope so for Lilly and the kid" I said "I gotta go deal with a shipment" Nico said and left I looked over my shoulder and saw Belle "hey there" I said to her "are you following me?" she said "of course not, but can I buy you a drink?" "sure, why not?" she said and I waved the bartender down.

I met up with Dante in a small park area but he had an icy extrinsic aura to him "hey" he said with his arms folded he was off "hey" I exhaled out "so, what did the doctor say?" here it was the moment I was dreading telling him and possibly losing him forever "I'm pregnant" I said I saw his body language and his facial expression change "what are you going to do about it?" "it's your baby too" I said looking down and he took a deep breath "I can't, I just I can't be a father Lilly" "we made this baby together Dante" "I'm sorry Lilly" he said and walked away all my emotions built up into one, sadness.

  A week later.

I decided to stay in a motel with Belle for a week till I figured out what I'm going to do and I finally decided if he didn't want the baby then he didn't want me either so I went back to the house to pack my things when Luca stopped me and took me outside "are you okay Lilly, where are you going?" "I'm leaving" "why?" "your brother is an asshole" I said "shit really" he said laughing "what's the idiot done now?" "oh he's just got me pregnant and now completely rejecting his baby!" "MY SON DID WHAT!?" I looked over and saw a woman behind me she had neat medium jet black hair, her skin color was almost like Nico's but her eyes were piercing green like Dante's she was wearing a blue jacket and skirt she stood so confidently next to Dante's father "mama!?" Luca said so she's their mother she's very beautiful "well shit he's in trouble now" his father said "Luca who is this girl?" she said staring daggers at me "ma this is Lilly she's Dante's fiance" "or ex fiance I guess" he added "and you're pregnant dear?" she said looking at me sharply "yes" I said "are you going to get rid of it?" his father said before I could respond their mother did "Dominique Black if I ever hear those words come from your mouth again I'll cut your tongue out!".
