Today was the motherfucking day! Alas, the recreational center was complete and ready to be utilized. I stood there in absolute awe at the finished product while my parents and their assistants were running around like headless chickens, preparing for tonight's big grand opening party. I knew I should be helping with the setup but I just wanted to soak everything in. Besides, decorating and sorting out guest seating was really Veronica's domain. She was going to make this party the event of the century. Her words, not mine.

"Hi sweetheart." Veronica said, approaching me with a small smile. "You've been standing there for a while now and you know how I feel about idleness. Why don't you go lift a box or something?"

I cracked a smile. "I'm just taking everything in Miss. Veronica. This recreational center surpassed my expectations. It's everything I could have wanted and more."

Veronica nodded in approval. "I must say your little girlfriend did a magnificent job. This place is kid friendly, yet stunningly beautiful. Which is why I find it so hard to believe that you're allowing your thug, drug invested friends up in this place tonight. Your father gave me your guests to add to the list this morning and son, I'm very unimpressed. This event is going to be red tie and full of class. Your father and I invited most of our friends and associates, our millionaire friends and associates who might want to invest in this organization might I add. It's your day so I'll let it slide but if your people come up in this spot and fuck shit up, so help me God...."

"How you gonna cuss and put God in the same sentence?" I interrupted, snickering lightly and wrapping an arm around my mother's shoulders. "My people will be fine. We might come from the streets but we know how to act right. Mind your business. Like you said, this is my event. Not yours."

"Oh, don't get shit twisted honey. This is our event. Your last name being Moss automatically made it a collective endeavor." Veronica snapped. "People's eyes might be on you tonight but their eyes are surely gonna be on your father and I, mentally critiquing what we produced. Your hooligan friends better get it together. Now get your arm off of my Dolce & Gabbana jacket."

Shaking my head, I released her from my grip and did a thorough walk around to ensure none of my ideas were being adjusted. I knew my parents meant well, but this was my thing. I put a lot of thought behind this project and I needed to see its true fruition.

"Yo, this party boutta be lit tonight!" Dylan exclaimed, waltzing in to state his presence.

"No, no, hell no. That is not the attitude we need tonight." Ruben piped up. "This ain't gonna be one of y'all wild shindigs. There's going to be marketing executives, millionaires, and other people of status here who could possibly endorse and sponsor your future activities in business. Dylan, be smart. Chance, be smarter."

I met up with my brother who was mocking Ruben's unnecessary speech and laughed. "I don't know what's up with my parents, man. They're both way too invested."

"I guess that's how rich people are when they're trying to get richer and keep up a persona." Dylan responded. "Either way, congratulations. This is all you man, you did this. You had a vision and executed, and I'm glad it's finally happening. Proud of you man."

"Thanks brother." I said, dapping Dylan. "Hey, Jacques and the fellas still coming tonight right?"

"Man, hell yeah." Dylan laughed. "Ain't nobody turning down free food and the chance to potentially meet a shorty with mad bread."

Chuckling, I watched Hanschell's sexy ass from the corner of my eye. She too was frantically rushing around with the rest of her staff, ensuring that everything was to its perfection. Hanschell's been strategically avoiding me since the incident with Amber, and that was only turning me on more. She wanted me still, I could feel it.
