AURORA ELPHICK huffed as she sat down in a carriage that contained one of her best friends since first year, Apollo Goldstein. "Where's Lily?" Aurora asked, the ravenclaw sitting across from her friend.

"Prefect duties with Lupin, haven't seen Evelyn yet. She's probably swooning over Sirius as we speak" The two shared a laugh before falling into a comfortable silence. Aurora pulled out one of the muggle books her mother had given her to read over the summer and flipped to the page she had bookmarked, deciding to read until their friends decided to join them.

Lily Evans, Apollo Goldstein, Evelyn Clearwater and Aurora Elphick had made a pact in second year to share what they did over the summer only when every member of the friend group was present, after Evelyn got upset that Lily had told Marleen McKinnon her summer festivities on the train before the group. It seemed a bit silly to the group now but after doing it for so many years they couldn't just stop.

A good bit into the train ride Lily had decided to join the three, but there was still no sign of Evelyn. "Where's Eve?" Lily asked her friends while sitting down next to Aurora, slightly tired.

"Dunno, haven't seen her yet. Figured you would've seen her during your-" Auroras words were cut off by Evelyn quickly pulling the compartment doors open.

"Guys, You'll never believe what's happened-" Evelyn shouted with excitement while slumping into the seat next to Apollo.

"This better be good Eve, you missed the bloody trolley" Aurora replied while shutting her book.

"Wait I missed the troll- Thats besides the point! Its insane ugh you guys arent-"

"Eve!" The three friends exclaimed, laughing lightly afterwards. The girl rambled like this often.

"There's a group of transfer students from Ilvermorny and everyone's talking about them! We have new rulers of Hogwarts!" Evelyn said a bit quickly, leg bouncing furiously as she made drastic hand movements.

"What?" Lily and Aurora said at the same time.

"I know! The entire trains buzzing" Evelyn seemed a bit to excited.

"I've got to see this" Aurora said while exiting the compartment, Lily following behind her as she shared the same curiousity but left her side to say hello to James Potter, who she had recently taken a liking to.

Aurora walked through a small group of students, muttering apologies until she reached the crowded compartment. She slid the door open and saw a group of four unfamiliar faces. She stepped into the compartment and slid the door closed behind her. "Well hello then, you've got the train going mad you know that?" Aurora placed her hands on her hips, her confident side showing at the attractive boys presence.

"Our apologies, Sorry but- who might you be?" An attractive boy with rather messy chocolate brown hair asked while the other boys looked her up and down carefully, the one girl that sat in the compartment flicked their heads, Aurora smiled at her.

"Aurora, Aurora Elphick. 6th year Ravenclaw, and who might you four be?" She asked while tucking a piece of hair behind her ear.

"David Dobrik" The one that had spoken before replied.

"Todd Smith" A fit boy with raven colored hair and dark eyes said.

"Scott Sire" A boy with peculiarly silver hair said.

"Kristen Mcattee" The girl who had flicked the boys said, Aurora hoped they would be friends.

"Well the pleasures mine, what houses are you hoping for?" Aurora now crossed her arms, not quite sure what to be doing with them.

"We got sorted over the summer to avoid the weird cheering whenever we would be sorted, Todd and I got sorted into Gryffindor while Scott and Kristen got sorted into Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw" David replied, ruffling his hair to keep it messy.

"A fellow Ravenclaw, lovely. Well ill see you in the great hall then Kristen and if you 4 ever need anything, I'm usually in the Astronomy tower or the Library, if you have trouble finding that ask your house ghosts, they can be quite helpful sometimes. Well I should probably get back to my friends, Bye now!" Aurora smiled sweetly and exited the compartment before heading back to her own.

Aurora slid open her compartments door to find Evelyn stuffing her mouth with sweets while Lily tried to sneak one away from the girl. She plopped down next to Apollo and tried to start reading before Lily asked her a question, "So, What're they like?" The red head asked while stuffing her mouth with gummy slugs.

In all honesty, Aurora was waiting to be asked. "Okay there's two Gryffindors, David and Todd. One Hufflepuff, Scott and a Ravenclaw! Her names Kristen. They're all really nice, extremely gorgeous faces by the way. I dunno, they seem like the kind of boys Evelyn is gonna throw herself at and-"

"Hey!"

"Come on Ev, its not a bad thing." Apollo shrugged while popping a fudge fly into his mouth, clearly not wanting the conversation topic to continue much longer.

"You guys make it sound like I'm some slut that'll sleep with anyone I lay my eyes on! How is that not a bad thing!" Evelyn was now standing, her hands balled into fists and her arms furiously behind her.

"Thats not what we meant-" Apollo started but Evelyn quickly cut her off.

"Okay then what did you mean? Hm?" Evelyn scoffed.

"We meant, we meant that you.." Apollo tried to find the right words but had some trouble, he looked down at his lap while trying to gather his thoughts.

"Thats what I thought, ill see you two in the common room. Bye Lily" Evelyn slammed the compartment door shut behind her, causing Apollo to jump slightly.

He frowned while Lily spoke, "She'll be out of her mood by the feast. Don't worry. If she doesn't lighten up ill talk to her, but I think were almost at the school so I should probably go check in with our head boy and girls, bye Aurora, bye Apollo." The redhead gave them a sweet smile and waved before exiting the compartment.

Apollo and Aurora sighed at the same time, so much for 'starting the year off right'.
