Rachel Roth glanced down at her phone, which was mainly covered by her long, navy blue hair. On the screen was a tornado warning, which was not unusual for Kansas. A cold breeze blew through the window next to her desk in the corner of the classroom. She pulled her hood up, warming her pale neck. At a second glance down at her phone she sees the date. September 16th, 2001. Otherwise known as the first day of school for the students at Arkham High School. Located next to the Arkham Asylum, most of the students were mentally challenged, or as she said, a few were just flat out insane.
Next to her sat Harleen, her best friend. Harleen sat with her black studded shoes on the edge of her desk (Yes, they were still on her feet.) and her long blonde hair twisted around her fingers. She had red headphones around her neck, which were beginning to tangle around her torn shirt, exposing much of what was underneath. She kept glancing over at their green-haired classmate, Jack, whom was scratching a mouth on the back of his hand and causing it to bleed all over his light wash jeans.
Across the room sat Oswald Cobblepot, who was placed in this classroom for murder. Well, that escalated rather quickly. In Jack's words, NEVER tell him he looks like a penguin. It's quite hard not to mumble it under your breath, being he waddles quite a bit when he is trying to transport himself from one location to another. He had an injury in one of his knees after almost being shot in the head by James Gordon, a detective in Gotham City.
As Rachel, or Raven, as Harleen called her, snapped back to the present, Edward stumbled in the door with quite a few bruises on his body and a large fur coat which was falling to the floor. He looked like he'd just gotten hit by a car, and Rachel wouldn't be surprised if he did. He was the kind of kid who would make you guess what he was talking about. Nothing could just be said, it was all a riddle, which is why people tried to ignore him.
He limped to his seat, and only once he sat in it did their professor begin to teach class. Nobody knew his name, he never told them. If they would ask, he would simple yell, "Nunya bizzniss," and continue halfazardly teaching. Harleen turned her head, but only for a split second, to stare at Bruce Wayne and Alfred Pennyworth walking down the street. Almost everyone in Arkham City hated the two, being Thomas and Martha Wayne were supposed to build a new asylum, but they were shot and killed and the plan never followed through.
Ivy, Rachel and Harleen's redheaded classmate, stared out the window and cringed, only for that to change to a terrified expression when Wayne and Pennyworth turned down the street to the school. It seemed everyone noticed it as the whole room went insane (well, more insane,) when they heard a knock at the door.

Slight disclaimer: I do not own any of these characters, they all rightfully belong to DC Comics.
