What We Want

Lyrics in bold. I'm not totally sure what I was thinking, I just wrote what came to my mind, so it's kinda random.
Imagine it has a kinda 40's sound to it, when all the chorus group-type bands were really popular, but with more of a punk/acid rock/sixties rock sound to it, like a crazy combo of all of them. I was thinking about the Beatles, Doors, and a couple singles from various artists of that era/fifties rock/forties pop.
It's a bit of a... weird peice to read through, but bear with me. I'll explain what 'Shangri-la' means at the bottom.

Shangri-la
Shang-
Shangri-la

I'm still a-waiting
For my Shangri-la

Shangri-la
Shang-
Shangri-la

Stop hesitating
C'mon Shangri-la

Shangri-la
Shang-
Shangri-la

Everybody's tryin'
For Shangri-la

Shangri-la
Shang-
Shangri-la

Don't start crying
You've got Shangri-la

Shangri-la
Shang-
Shangri-la

All these screens
We're slipping into
Keeping it blue
How have we not seen

But what am I saying
We'll get Shangr-la

Shang-
Shangri-la
Shang-
Shang-
Shangri-la

I said
Shangri-la
Shang-
Shangri-la
Shang-
Shang-
Shang-
Shangri-la

So... Shangri-la. I first heard that word  a couple years ago, part of a song in a musical called 'In My Room.'
You see, Shangri-la is a mythical place which basically is heaven on earth. It started becoming a popular expression in the Roaring Twenties, and it was a staple of pop culture up into the early fifties. I just like it, for it's phonetic combination, meaning and the way it kind of has an ambiguous meaning to it. And this song may not be totally unspecific, but it's just dubious enough that each person who hears it can hear it how it is to them, y'know?
Thoughts, anyone?
