Lyrics in bold. I just kinda wanted to write a more fun song, and one that had a kinda plot to it. Imagine a fusion of the songs "Take A Load Off" for the lyrical rythm, as well as sone of the instrumentals, and then Led Zeppelin's "Hey Hey What Can I Do" in some instrumental portion-but always remember to let the music make itself.
I came around
Back to this old town
Just a-tryin to get
AwayWas gettin' down
I said real down yeah
Down further every day
Oh, downThought of a friend
And then I grinned
We always had a good
Old timeSo I said
Hey there ol' Jonny
How're things with you?
I'm in town
And a-feelin' down
Wonderin' if you were tooJonny and me
Found a movie to see
Hung around out til' late
AwhileTurns out Jonny
Was a bit blue, too
He just couldn't get him
A girlSo I called
Another old friend
Always had an ear to
Bend andYeah I said,
Hello, sweet Annie
How're things with you?
I'm in town
Feeling a bit down
And could use a good talkin' toAnnie came down
In a car stained brown
Looking cute like she did
AlwaysI pulled her aside
Told her I was doing fine
But Jonny was just so blue
Told herJust talk with him
Or go all out on a limb
He's just so lonely
You seeAnd she said,
Poor lonely Jonny
Ain't nothing I can do
I've gotta man
You must understand
But I might have a friend or twoSo I rang up
While Jonny drank a cup
Filled with a-liquid
CourageThe first was a dud
But we couldn't be stuck in the mud
Jonny said it don't really
MatterBut I kept a-ringin'
Otherwise Jonny would be singin'
Those lonely old blues
Yeah, yeahSo I said,
Hey there sweet lady
I've got nothin to do
Come on round
And we'll go out on the town
And bring along a friend or twoSo we waited
Just Jonny and me
He was about ready to leave
EarlyBut I made him stay
There wasn't any way
I was gonna let him get
All blueSoon we heard an old car
Sounded like it'd been a bit too far
Pullin into the drive
Aw yeahJonny said
Hello sweet ladies!
I've a-waited for you
Now let's go out
We'll see what you're all about
And have some good talkin' tooThen Jonny wasn't
All blue and lonely
Turns out we weren't the only
Who needed a friend or twoAnd I say,
Goodnight sweet Hannah
I'm so glad I met you
I'll take you
All the way back to your room
And let ya have a-some sweet dreamsThank you Annie
Now we ain't so blue
Met some girls
It's funny how the night unfurls
But there's nothin' I'd rather doI was kinda writing about being back in my hometown, seeing old friends and feeling old feelings. None of the names I used are of actual people, they just sounded right in my head.
I'm gonna do something new-anyone have suggestions or requests for a song? Theow some stuff out there, and I'll try to write it or include it in something.
