"Broken" Chapter 34

Selena’s P.O.V

It’s been two weeks since the court hearing. Justin and I are back at school and thankfully we’re in a new apartment. A much much nicer one thanks to my father. Unfortunately we’re in a different building from Amber and Andrew. But it’s still nice, they come over all the time. It’s not an on campusapartment, but it’s still student housing. There’s so much more room and all the appliances have been updated. Justin however thought it would be funny to put a picture of a tiger in the bathroom…just so he can run out like Allen from the hangover and say ‘there’s a jungle cat in the bathroom!’. We both laughed at that for a good week every time either of us went in there.

This past week I’ve been going to Elizabeth, my therapist, and talking over all that has happened my first semester ofcollege. It’s been pretty hectic. The beginning started off horrible with my mental disorder at it’s worst, then the whole Matt thing didn’t help my condition. As if I wasn’t already messed up enough.

I’ve been progressing quicker than I thought though which is a good thing. I walk around campus feeling safe and I don’t feel the need to have Justin take me everywhere, even though he insist’s walking me to my classes some days. He’s been great through all of this. He comes to therapy with me and waits in the waiting room and does his homework. He’s been pretty shaken up about what happened as well, but not to the point where he needs therapy.

The two of us spend a whole lot more time together, as if we didn’t before thewhole thing happened. Maybe it’s because basketball season ended last week. Justin’s sad that it’s over, but there’s always next season to look forward to.

I was walking back from class to go hit the books hard since finals are next week then finally Christmas break!

I walked into the building and up to the second floor where our apartment is. Taking out my key I unlocked the door and walked in. Usually I find Justin sitting on the couch with his nose in one of his textbooks, but this time I heard music, sad, depressing music.

I dropped my bag on the ground and walked towards the music. I looked in our bedroom to see Justin laying on the bed motionless looking up at the ceiling.

“Justin” I said walking over and turning the music down. He didn’t move,

“Justin what are you doing” I asked skeptically walking over to the side of thebed, looking down at him with his arms and legs sprawled out. He didn’t say anything, he just handed me a piece of paper. I looked at it and it was his big essay he had been working on all semester. I looked over it and nothing seemed to be wrong,

“What?” I asked handing him back the essay.

“The grade” he said in a monotone. I looked on the last page of the essay and it said B-. Oh you have got to be kidding me.

“So what?” I shrugged. He said up and snatched the essay out of my hands,

“This is quality writing,  A+ writing.” he said pointing at the essay.

“So your going to sit in here and listen to depressing music simply because you got a B- on a paper. Justin a B- isn’t bad at all. I get B’s.” I shrugged and sat on the bed next to him.

“But I worked so hard on this!” he said slumping his shoulders and pouting. In all honesty I just wanted to burst out laughing, but he wouldn’t be a happy camper if I did that.

“I know you did. But one essay isn’t going to ruin your GPA, Mr. 4.2” I said resting my chin on his shoulder. He turned and looked at me. Our noses were touching and we were both just looking at each other and then at the same time we both made funny faces with made us laugh.

“How was class” he asked as we walked into the family room area.

“Stupid” I said. Why he asks me this question each day is beyond me since I always have the same answer.

“I’m going to the library to study, wanna come?” he asked as he put books into his backpack.

“You sure you want to walk in that?” I asked, pointing out the window to the snow that was coming down faster and heavier by the minute. He made a face and sighed,

“Your more than welcome to stay and study with me and drink hot chocolate” I smiled as I walked over to him, wrapping my arms around his waist.

“I think that sounds wonderful” he said, kissing the tip of my nose.

“You know what I really want to do?” I asked as we walked over to the couch and sat down, well Justin actually pulled me onto his lap.

“What do you really want to do” he asked with a smile.

“I would really like to go on a legit date” I said nodding my head and wrapping my arms around him neck. He laid his arm over my lap and and pulled me closer.

“A date huh?” he asked looking up at me through his new glasses we had gone and bought him the other day. I thought he looked quite studious in them and extra super sexy.

“Yes, a date. Dinner and a movie” I said falling back on the couch so that my legs were now on his lap.

“I think we can do that” he smiled at me.

“Good” I said clapping my hands once together.

“What movie?” he asked as he opened a textbook and placed it on top of my legs.

“A scary one. Like The Devil Inside! That looks so fucking scary! It’ll be awesome” I gushed. Scary movies are my favorite, Justin on the other had seems to differ.

“How about a happy movie, a funny one.” he suggested. I scoffed,

“See I don’t even know why you suggest that because in the end we always end up watching the scary one” I said shaking my head. He sighed and nodded in agreement.

“We’ll go on a movie dinner sate sometime during break” he said smiling at me before flipping through this textbook furiously.

“Slow down bro your going to rip the pages” he giggled.

“I’m studying, much like you should be doing” he said looking at me through his eyelashes since he was concentrating closely on the book.

“I’m like, freaking Einstein, I know everything” I joked.

“Okay, then what is the variance of a sample of four observations being one, three, five, and seven?” this fucking boy.

“Uh, the variance is 6.67.” I said. He looked in the book and the answer and then looked at me. I smirked,

“As I was saying, I’m fucking Einstein” I said proudly.

“Lucky guess” he mumbled.

“You weren’t playing attention the day we learned about that” I said.

“Yes I was, I always pay attention.” he defended.

“No, I’ve found you sleeping a few times from time to time. And the day we learned about variance, I was wearing a low cut shirt” I teased.

“Ooooooh the tie dye one that looks like outer space with the little jewels along the top?” he said excitedly. I started laughing and nodded,

“That you for proving my point” I said grinning. He slumped his shoulders and sighed,

“Don’t mess with me Bieber” I said shaking my finger at him. He put the textbook aside and crawled over to me so he was laying in between me and the couch.

“I’ll mess with you whenever I want to” he said, wrapping an arm around my waist.

“I don’t think so” I said shaking my head and tapping his lips with my index finger. He smiled at me and kissed my finger,

“I love you” he said, taking my hand and lacing our fingers together,

“I love you too Justin Drew Bieber” I whispered and smiled. He smiled and leaned in, kissing my lips softly and lingering them there before going in for another short, passionate kiss. This is what makes me happy, what makes it all worth it still.
