Dimitri's POV

Punching the bag in my hot and sweaty home gym, I come to a stop rotating my shoulder and arms forward, then backwards working the kinks out.

Shaking sweat and nerves off I continue throwing jabs, and a few combos feeling the familiar burn return inside of my muscles.

Today is my princess' birthday, and instead of me waking her up to a well deserved day, I have to sit and wallow in meetings.

I wonder if she thinks about me as much as I do her?

"Hijo, ven aquí, breakfast is ready!"

"Coming!" I unwrap my hands going up the steps to take a quick shower.

After my shower I put my gun in the waistband of my gray sweatpants taking a seat in the dining room to eat breakfast with my mamá.

We both stay silent for most of breakfast, not having anything to converse about. My mother knows I miss Abree, and she knows it is only a matter of time before I call one of my men to give me the information on Abree's actions.

I have a few men watching her in case she needs help, I respect her space, but I will never be able to leave her alone.

"Time."

"Today is her birthday." I say rubbing my beard thinking about my princess spending her 19th birthday alone.

"Hijo, stop this trauma to yourself, Abree will be back. Give her some time."

Sighing I shove more eggs in my mouth. "How much time? It has been 6 mouths since she pranced out of here without the truth."

My mother gently shakes her head at me. "She did not prance, she simply walked with security, something you took from her without notice."

"I understand, but she still does not have the truth. She thinks I sold her by my own."

My mother shakes her head again, "No, she is not ignorant to the truth. You have to believe in her, she is able to make her own decisions without you being in her throat constantly."

"I do believe in her, I love her with my soul, I know how strong she is. I can't wait any longer, she needs to know today."

"You may do you as you please," she says shrugging her shoulders. "But challenge yourself, be patient, she will come when the time is right. Let her be the one who chooses you."

Sighing in defeat, I say nothing more eating the rest of my breakfast. By this time the door bell rings causing one of my guards Chris, to yell for me.

"Hey jefe! Some-" before he can finish I get up racing to the front door.

Abree

My thoughts are cut short as Bryan stands in my front door.

"What do you want?" I peer at him.

"Didi, is that any way to treat blood?" my mother says from behind me.

I turn looking at my mother softening my features, "Mamá, he's not blood, he sold Abree remember?"

"We, do not, hold grudges. You kill him, or stop bitching. Which one? I didn't raise you to drag." My mother snaps at me changing her demeanor from humble, to rage.
