His Muse

Chapter 5 - Love Sickness

It seemed like he had an effect on me, I couldn't stop thinking about him and even worse, I didn't know why. I didn't want to. Why out of everyone did he suddenly have control over me?

After school I went home and decided to put on a movie and try and forget about this whole situation. I guess he didn't want me to forget, because soon I got a call from his assistant, Lindsay. She wanted to know if I could find outfits similar to the ones they wanted for the photoshoot. I looked through my closet, and insecurity came flooding into me. I thought to myself - what if he doesn't like my clothes, the way they fit, etc? So, I asked Lindsay. She explained to me that "Ron had taken a liking to me." (Apparently that doesn't happen often.) So I worried a little less.

Lindsay told me to come into the office one day after school. I had to try on all the possible outfits for Ron. So the next day, I did.

I went into the dressing room, and changed into the first outfit. A tight pink dress with silver buttons down the middle. I walked into Ron's office. "Wow," he looked me up and down.

I realized the effect he had on me. He made me feel special, like i'm the only girl in the world that matters. And, maybe, that's what I needed in my life. I needed to feel like I was someone that mattered.

After I showed him all the outfits, we sat down for a while to talk. He brought up the photoshoot. "Straight hair, and light makeup," he said. "I know you'll look gorgeous like that." He had his assistant and bookkeeper leave and run some errands for him. This meant we were alone. We sat in his office, and talked about love, life and everything else. We found out how similar we are, beliefs and all.

And I got sad. Now I knew for sure I was going to fall for him. If I hadn't already.. There was no stopping it, especially if I kept seeing him.

I left my number on a sticky note next to his computer. This way maybe I'd have another chance to talk to him alone.
