~A Rainy Ending Given To A Perfect Day~

"Did you know I love you," Michael asked Jeremy who was laying in his lap.

"Of course. I love you too," Jeremy said smiling and Michael kissed Jeremy on the forehead.

"Good. Never forget that," Michael said back.

"Not planning on it," Jeremy replied.

The boys then went back to the movie they were watching.

When the movie was over, Michael looked down at Jeremy and saw that he was sleeping.

"He looks so peaceful," Michael thought and carefully moved Jeremy off of his lap, trying not to wake him up.

Once he was free, Michael picked up the sleeping Jeremy and moved him to their bedroom. Michael then placed Jeremy in their bed and pulled the covers over him, kissing him softly on the lips as he did it.

"I love you," Michael whispered and left the room and went to the office where he grabbed a pen and paper and started to write a note.

When he was finished the note, Michael placed it on the counter of their kitchen and quickly left the house, tears forming in his eyes.

The next day, when Jeremy woke up, he noticed that Michael wasn't in bed next to him.

"Michael," Jeremy called. No response.

"Weird. Maybe he didn't hear me," Jeremy said aloud and got out of bed.

Jeremy immediately went to the kitchen thinking that Michael was probably making breakfast, but found nothing. However, he did see a note on the counter with his name on it.

Jeremy walked over to the note and opened it. He proceeded to read it aloud. It read:

Dear Jeremy,
I'm so sorry I have to do this. I really am. I never want to break your heart, but I just can't go on anymore. You were my only light in the world. Every other person I know hates me. Honestly, it surprises me how you don't hate me sometimes. That someone could actually love me. And I love you. But I was still a burden to you, whether you admit it or not. I could tell, maybe not by the look on your face or the fact that I could see it in your eyes, but the way I treated you and acted around you. Like when we were in high school and you got that SQUIP. I can't help but feel like it was somehow my fault that it almost destroyed the school. Not yours. Maybe I could've done more to not convince you to get it. I had a small feeling it wasn't going to turn out good in the end and I did almost nothing to stop you. I wish I could go back and change it, learn from it, but I can't seem to. I don't want to waste your time anymore. I'm sorry. I love you, really. I know you'll find someone someday who will treat you better. I'm sorry to give you a rainy ending given to a perfect day, but I know one day you'll get over me because I was a terrible boyfriend who didn't deserve your love. Good bye.

When Jeremy finished reading it, tears immediately started to form in his eyes and quickly turned into sobbing.

"Why," Jeremy croaked and that was all he could get out of his mouth in between sobs.

Jeremy truly loved him and didn't believe any of the things that Michael wrote. Michael wasn't a burden, he was his everything. His one and only. Forever and always.

Jeremy turned around to the direction of his bedroom and stared at the bottom of the bed. Right there, under the bed, was a wedding ring. Jeremy was planning on proposing to Michael that day, but never got to and never will have the chance. It was to late.
