Virgil looked at Logan, looking forward to an explanation as to what the hell was going on.

"We all arrived here when we turned eight," Logan began. "I was the first to arrive, after my parents were killed in an electrical storm. Patton arrived a week or so later, I believe, after his parents had been lost as well. During this time period, we discovered we had developed certain special abilities.

"About two and a half months later, Roman appeared. His parents had also been killed, and it was his eighth birthday. We've all been here ever since, in this strange building. It seems to cater to our every need, but on a tight schedule. We wake up early to eat breakfast, then train. If we don't, the alarm sound continues until we do."

"Woah, woah, woah, hold on a second," Virgil stopped him. "That's a lot of information to process at once.(honestly what am I doing anymore this is terrible) So you all appeared here suddenly on your eighth birthday, which also happens to be when your parents died?"

"Yes, V, that is what I said."

"Yeah, but what kind of coincidence is that?" the man said.

"If you would let me finish, that would be very much appreciated," said Logan, ignoring Virgil's question. Patton chuckled a little. "Anyways, strange shadow-like monsters have appeared a lot, and we are the only humans known to us that can stop them. So, one of us will leave everyday after lunch and go around to check. Roman and Patton do it most often, seeing as their abilities are good for traveling fast."

Virgil stayed there silently, processing what Logan had just told him.

Roman, who had been off doing his own thing, walked over. "Hey, are we ever going to eat?"

Patton straightened (his back not his sexuality duh) and ran over to the kitchen. "You're right! Time to make some food!"

Virgil noticed Logan smile a little as they walked over to the table.

Roman inhaled his food and pulled Logan with him to the far side of the room, ignoring the confused looks of Patton and V.

"So?" Roman asked. "Did you do it?"

"What do you mean by 'it'?" Logan responded.

"You know exactly what I mean, four-eyes."

Logan sighed. "I didn't think it was appropriate since V had just arrived."

"You said you'd do it!" Roman exclaimed. "You'd better do it soon, Logan, you never know when we could be randomly attacked by a swarm of those shadow things again. Last time that happened, we all stayed away from each for over a month!"

"I...I suppose you're right, Roman," Logan said, adjusting his glasses.

"You bet I am!"

"I'll do it tomorrow morning after training. Does that sound appropriate?"

Roman considered the romantic scene. "I guess it works! It's not ideal but with no time it should be fine!"
