Lumine's POV

It's been a few years since Kody and Aiden took me in. And Kody and I have became close. We are best friends now. Kody is still the same. And I haven't really changed either. Kody is a lot more open to me now. And that makes me really happy. I still worry about Kody, mainly because of Calla. Calla went back to her old ways after the were rumors going around that she had a crush on Kody. So she just went back to bullying Kody. I don't know why but every time someone tries to hurt Kody I always feel like I've let him down. Even if he says that I couldn't do anything about it. I still feel....

...useless...

... sorry...

...unable...

And that hurts me more than anything else.

Kody's POV

Lumine is a great friend. No, he is my best friend. I still don't have friends and I've stayed the same since I've meet him. At first I hated Lumine. I wanted him gone and out of my life forever. Then I started to change and we became very close. But I'm still cold. Calla is bullying me again...Great...cuz that's what I really need. I'm working on my magic and I'm still pretty bad. But I have been getting better.....Slowly.

It's Friday. I think Lumine is in his bush sleeping.....RING RING RING....The bell went signaling for lunch. I hated lunch now. Because I knew what we waiting for me. Calla. I wish she'd just leave me alone. I saved her life!! And this is how she repays me? I walked out of the classroom. And ran to a tree on the side of the soccer field. I sat there, and saw a boy with white hair with fluffy ears running to me...Lumine...

"KODY!"

I waited for him to get closer to me so that i didn't have to gain any unwanted attention. Now he was sitting beside me.

"Hi Kody!" Lumine sounded happy. I liked it when he was happy. I looked at him. We were 12 when we meet. We were both 14 now. Lumine saw a soft smile. I could feel my cheeks burning a little.

"Oh no, Kody! A-Are you sick? Y-Your turning r-red!" Lumine's eyes had worry in them, and his voice was high pitched and was stuterning.

....Why is Lumine so cute?....

Wait?! What?!

"O-Oh S-Sorry! I-I-I'm F-Fine!" My voice was everywhere. And i could feel that I was getting a lot more flustered.

"Kody are you alright?" Lumine wasn't panicked anymore.

"Mmhmm" I said, Lumine went to his happy self again. And i just watched him, silently.

....I could stare at him all day....

What am I thinking?!

"Look who was have hear? Ha, It's crybaby and his protector!" That voice sent shivers down my spine.

"Calla, I don't want to talk to you! Get away from me!" I couldn't help but get angry. I could see that Lumine was fuming.

"DON'T TELL ME WHAT TO DO YOU LITTLE BRAT! YOU'RE WORTHLESS AND CAN'T EVEN CAST A SPELL WITHOUT BLOOD COMING OUT IF YOU BLOODY MOUTH!" Calla had now pinned me to the tree i was sitting next to. I didn't see anyone with her.

.....Crack....

I felt me head hit the tree hard. I heard a crack. Calla had punched me in the head. I saw Lumine get up and running out to me and Calla. Lumine grabbed Calla by the neck and out of shock Calla released me. I fell to the ground and I quickly crawled out from under Calla. I put my hand on the back of my head.
