God...damn. He is gorgeous. His gazed pierced me and surrendered me frozen, He was quite the sight.

Prince Elijah Everett. Even his name sounded damn gorgeous. He strolled up to me with our eyes were still staring into another. Taking my hand and pressing it against his mouth in a small kiss, I almost swooned.

"Prince Elijah at your service, my lady." The prince declared.

I almost snorted when he said that. 'My lady' I mocked him in my head. But even then, the way he was looking at me, had me at loss for words. How funny. A man having me speechless, a man I just met no less. Finding my footing, I stood up straighter,

"Avagilene Lyra, pleased to make your acquaintance."

Prince Elijah looked pleased at my introduction. After the exchange, we welcomed silence. Everybody was looking at me and the prince, anxious as to what would be said next. He was looking at me, I was looking at him and nobody said a thing. I had nothing left to say. I hated small talk, and I wasn't going to start contributing to it now.

Footsteps came down the stairs slowly until reaching the end. Ah, my bestfriend, the savior of the awkward silence.

"Nolan." I greeted with a real smile on my lips. "How nice of you to finally join us."

Letting out a quick laugh ," Well I wasn't going to let you have all the fun, now was I?" He retorted.

"No, no. Of course not. They would be such a pity."

"Indeed it would."

Prince Elijah stared at the banter between me and Nolan with hard eyes. You couldn't tell anything was wrong, until you looked closely, and then you would see him clench his jaw and lock it. Such a complete opposite mood from a minute ago.

Someone cleared their throat with a little 'ahm'

"Awkward." Sialis whistled with a tiny laugh.

What? How was that awkward? Deciding to settle my wandering gaze on my parents, I realize they had scowls on their faces. What have I done now?  Rolling my eyes with a little sigh, I walk into the kitchen. I need a drink.

I settled on making a strawberry smoothie. Those things were definitely worth making. "Strawberries. Strawberries." I sang repeatedly, getting out the ingredients which really only consisted of strawberries, milk, ice and sugar. Sticking it all in the bender, I reached for the on button.

"Don't you do it!" I heard Nolan shout behind me as he rushed to stop me.

"What, why? I want a smoothie. Get out of my way, before I knock you out." I threatened him with the blender top. He just looked at me with a lopsided grin on his face.

"What? Why are you giving me that dumb grin? I'm serious, I'll knock you out." I reminded him of my previous threat.

"Oh yeah?" He challenged as he took a step towards me. We were only a foot apart, if that.

"Yeah." I meekly provided, suddenly breathless from the exchange.

"With what?" He questions as he raises his brows expectantly.

"What do you mean with what? With this, you dip shît!" I shoved the top in front of his face.

Wait.. The top. The blender top. A look of realization must've crossed my face because Nolan just laughed as he took the top and secured it on the blender. Still grinning from ear to ear, he rubs the top of my head.

"What would you do without me." He asks more himself, than me.

I have no idea Nolan. I have no idea.
