"You're leaving?!" Lance cried as Keith gave him the news, tears starting to leak. Keith nodded, "Lance this is for the best, I'm part Galra, or what they were, Gatra! I could hurt you!" Keith's voice broke on that last sentence. Lance leaped at Keith, making him fall on the bed, "b-but Keith, you c-can't just leave me h-here!" Lance whimpered and shifted into Mace, their mental link overwhelming Keith with Lance's pain and fear. "it'll be ok Lance, I'll come back once i'm done training." Keith pet the top of Mace's head, the wolfix purring sadly and getting off, letting his guardian get up and leave.
The whole team was there to see Keith off, Lance included. They told the paladins that Mace was onboard already, so they didn't question it. After everyone gave their goodbyes, Lance stepped up to Keith and smiled, "see ya around Samurai." He choked out softly. Keith smiled and hugged Lance closely, whispering in his ear, "it'll only be a few months, i'll be back soon." And with that, the ship left the Castle of Lions.
It had been a few months since Keith had gone, and the changes were unraveled. Lance went back to being snapped at and ignored almost a week after Keith had left. At first, they kept asking if Lance could call Mace back, but however much Lance wanted to, he'd always reply with, 'No, sorry, Mace isn't mine, he's Keith's and Keith's alone'. After that they'd complain about the emptiness of the castle, how Lance wasn't Keith or Mace (Funny right?). That all changed when the Galra attacked.
The Galra had the castle pinned, not even Voltron could fight them all off. One commander from the lead ship broadcasted to the Castle, "We know you have a wolfix in your possession! Turn him over and you will be spared!"
Allura took a deep breath and hit respond.

I know this chapters kinda short, but that's because i mostly bs this chapter for 2 days straight with little sleep. Chapter 5 SHOULD be longer so ill have it out by next week hopefully.
