"Sophieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee" Josh screamed through the buzzer "it's time to get going you knob!"

Typical Josh and his pleasant daily greeting, it was the same every morning, the same routine, the same sights, the same people. I am getting sick of it, I need a sign, something to help get me out of this dull and draining city.

"Well, are you coming or not soapie??" Before you ask, yes he did call me soapie, Josh and I have been friends since we were 3 and Soapie was what he called me before he could pronounce my name properly. He only called me that when he wanted some sort of reaction and today that was what he got.

"ALRIGHT, alright, calm your ham Josh I am coming" I calmly stated through the buzzer as i fiddled with the key to allow me entry into the wonderful streets of London. I was barely through the main door to my building when a body jumped ontop of mine, throwing my balance which resulted in me falling butt first into a puddle.

"Gee thanks Josh, perfect start to a perfect day" I moaned as Josh bent over in fits of lauhter "Hey it isn't funny Joshua Wick, my new jeans are bloody soaked" I tried my hardest to sound stern and angry but his laugh is so damn contagious. I didn't want to let him see he had won so I ran for our bus leaving Josh bent double at my door. "See ya loser!" I yelled running onto the bus and up to the top deck.

Watching as Josh realised what had happened from the window he ran onto the bus, walked up the stairs and chose to sit far away from me play - acting angry, I chuckled and stared out the window for a while.

Half an hour later I realised my stop was next, Josh had gotten off a few stops ago leaving me to my thoughts and as the bus pulled up to the stop I couldn't shake the feeling of complete dread, I hated this part of town, I hated my job, I would rather be doing anything else but this right now. I thanked the bus driver and stepped off the bus the cold air slicing at my cheeks.

I quickly arrived at the brown and repulsive looking building and took a deep breath "in 9 hours you will be done for two days, so suck it up soph." I whispered to myself, if only that would make me feel a tiny bit better about this.

-9 hours later-

"I cannot stand that place, my boss was creepier than usual today Eff. I can't take it anymore, I don't think I can go back on Monday" I wail down the phone to my cousin Effy, she was more than a cousin though to me, we were best friends.

"Awk Soph, please don't cry. How about I come round to your house just now, I will meet you on your way back from work and we can watch some sad movies and eat a whole load of crap hey, how does that sound to you bubs?" she knew how to make me feel better.

"Yes! Eff, it means alot really. I should be home in about half an hour so head round whenever and order the food, I'm starving."

Effy was my rock and I was hers. She has stuck by me through everything and I mean EVERYTHING, she was there for me when life got unbearable and I am so thankful to have a family member who actually cared. When we were younger we spent almost every day together as our parents lived across the road from one another, it was brilliant, I really missed those easy and carefree days.

I arrived back home and steppping into my flat I was hit by warmth, a definite change from previously. I could also smell something delicious and was greeted by Eff and our chinese.

"You have nooooo idea how happy I am that there is food here" I gushed

"Oh wow, thanks Soph."

"You know I am happy to see you too Eff, but food, you know how much it means to me, we have something special." I joked to her

After our meal we sat on my comfy sofas discussing what I was going to do.

"I just can't see myself being there any longer, my boss takes any oppurtunity to call me into the office, blame me for something I didn't do and put his hands on my lap. It is honestly repulsive Eff it makes me feel physically sick"

She was silent for a minute and then suddenly a look of complete victory crossed her face. "I know! I know, I know, I know Soph!!." She sqeeled. "You know my friend Matty." Yes I did and I know he wasn't just her "friend" but I chose to ignore that. "Well" she said "His best friend has a band, they are becoming more and more known, you might have heard of them they are called Bastille? Something like that and well they are about to embark on their first really sort of major "Bad Blood" tour around the UK, I could see if you could be of use on that, I know how much you love music and it would do you some good to get away from this place for a while after all that has happened."

"ARE YOU BEING SERIOUS EFF?!" my heart was pounding "Yes please do, that would be absolutely brilliant!" I didnt want to get my hopes up but doing something like this would be my dream, I had always wanted to do something music related but missed out on ever getting the oppurtunity to go down that career path and I was honestly willing to do anything to gain some sort of experience, and  I was panicking just a little.

"Okay, okay, calm down Soph, I will phone Matty when I get back home and see what I can do, but just know if you do get a job poor little old me will miss you!"
