(///chapter involves swears, mention of rape, and near death///)

Cold.

You were so cold.

You shivered as your skin was a mere colour of blue. Your eyes had expanded from a previous meltdown a few moments earlier, constantly having dark thoughts run in and out of your head more than a few times.  Tears were frozen to your skin as you gripped your clothes tighter to your body, hunched over and whimpering in pain. You hated yourself in this state, you looked like easy prey to larger mortal enemies. You looked down at your chest, blood splashed on your clothes from coughing it up. You knew you were slowly dying. It had to be just a matter of time. You looked up at the huge buildings around you, skyscrapers and all. Made of metal and concrete, making small creaking noises as no noise was disturbed in the silence. You huffed, almost dragging your feet across the ground. Your feet were so sore from walking and running from predators and nature's natural selection. You were tired of running.

You knew why the city was abandoned.

Nearly a century ago, a massive breach of the nearby ''foundation'' had happened. Nearly all the scps broke loose from both planning and forcing their way out. They attacked the city, destroying everything in their path. Normal citizens completely freaked and moved away fast as they could to nearby cities, god even to other countries. The military tried to re-contain but could do merely nothing to the creatures of huge scale. They were by the thousands, nothing could stop them it seemed. It was like a disease, a plague spreading across the land and eating its victim inside and out. It seemed all too familiar to you somehow. Like you have heard it before but it was just on the tip of your tongue. Whatever, the scps cleared ass with population though, killing thousands. Eventually, over time, it had become this. A rotting, frozen over the city. Yet again a century ago there wasn't a ton of people so it was a massive disaster in total. Now, others feared the country. No one came, no one went. It was quiet, almost never to be entered. Ever.

The images appeared before your eyes, imagining the absolute chaos of what had happened. You weren't in the chaos back, simply due to you being 19. Yet you've had heard multiple stories and rumours that spread like wildfire what had happened back then. You collapsed on the frosted ground simply due to the guilt and sorrow building up in your gut. Feeling the cold concrete completely swell and take over your legs remaining body heat. You ached and you cried. It was a vicious cycle.

You were scared.

No.

You were petrified.

You didn't want to think about it but thinking of death lingered in the back of your mind, always there it seemed. Waiting for you to give up and give in. You were always a fighter in survival but the fact that you were never prepared bothered you to a very long extent. You closed your eyes, new tears dripping onto the snowed ground. You breathed heavily and watched the blurred vision of your breath appear then disappear and vanish without a trace. You looked up for one of the final times, seeing a small light. Wait. A flame? No. Impossible. There wouldn't be heat out here, especially in this climate.
