( plot summary )

is this the start of something
wonderful and new?

lilith fitzgerald was known to be too cocky for her own good, a plausible reason of why she couldn't ever make it into acting. agencies were appalled by her unfortunate lack of cooperation, her friends consumed by wasting their nights on partying, and her family cutting off all connection by the age of eighteen.

yet, meeting john deacon has to be the worst part of her life so far. she hates him, he's agreeable and pleasant to be around that his laugh makes her wish she never had the ability to hear in the first place. she'll never admit she's jealous of a boy who causes her to publicly announce her irritation. however, while angry discussions turn into suggestive teasing and accusing gestures become romantic actions, john shows her a gentler side of herself that she never knew.

still, her dreams are still waiting as everyone wants to meet the girl who nailed her audition for the upcoming film, heavenly moonlight. she's torn as accepting this offer will give her a chance to blossom in a career she's always wanted, yet she has to leave john in order to follow this. in a situation where the two most important things that matter to her are hanging in the balance, all she's sure of is that she has to follow her heart.

or one more dream that i cannot make true?

( additional information )
          — this is loosely based on the musical, la la land, directed by damien chazelle
— lilith and john do not like each other the first few times that they meet, he finds her to be stubborn and obnoxious while she thinks he's pushover who needs to grow tougher skin
          — please let there be snarky banter between them that's really rude at first, but becomes accidentally playful and flirty in the end
— this book will be filled with a lot of angst as she can't have both john and her career and he's kinda getting tired of her shit
— you get to decide how this ends by making her give up her love for her career or vice versa, but it was originally intended that she would leave john to pursue being an actress
           — you don't have to keep the summary if you don't want to, but this is how the plot is structured
