Vic's POV:
I really don't know if I can go out and do this. I'm so nervous. What if he doesn't like me? I'm going to embarrass myself. I know it. Maybe I should just stay home.
"Ready to go?", Mike asked.
I also invited my best friends -and brother- Mike, Jaime and Tony, who also happen to be members of Pierce the Veil. I hope they'll be able to give me moral support.
"Nah Mike. I'm not sure I'm gonna go."
"What?!", Mike yelled at me, "listen, I know you like this boy. I'm your brother. So you're going tonight and that's that."
I sighed in return as he walked out of the room. I can just hope I don't screw things up.
Kellin's POV:
"Alright you guys." I smiled into the microphone.
Tonight my band, Sleeping With Sirens, is playing a gig at Decode. It's something for us to get noticed with.
The owner, Hayley, let us do shows every once in awhile. She's a nice girl. If I were straight maybe there would be a thing there? I don't know. I honestly just flirt with any guy that moves. Or looks attractive that is.
I mean, I do flirt a lot but I can also be a really nice guy. Every once in awhile I'll get one of my friends, or even someone I don't know walk up to the bar, all sad, order a drink and complain about everything wrong in their life. It doesn't bother me. In fact, Kellin Quinn here, even tries to help them deal with their situations.
"Tonight I've got something special for you. A surprise if you will." I looked through the crowd for the long haired boy I saw last night. I didn't see him. Not yet.
"This one's a little song called If I'm James Dean, You're Audrey Hepburn and I hope you like it."
VIC'S POV:
As soon as I saw him my heart began beating faster. I was mesmerized by his angelic voice. The lyrics were beautiful and I got lost in them. I was standing in the back of the bar but he still managed to find where I was and lock eyes with me. I swear the lyrics he wrote were made for me, but that's not possible and before I know it, the song ends.
"Well uh.." He starts, actually looking nervous.
Kellin scratched the back of his neck awkwardly before saying something that blows me away, something that leaves me horrified.
"I'd like to take this time to have my new friend take the stage." He points a finger at me and I'm nearly shaking.
"I'd also like to call up the rest of his band to play a song for us."
I look at him like he's insane. He may be. I can't perform in front of people! What am I going to do?!
I walk slowly up to the stage with the others in front of me. There's a knot in my stomach that doesn't seem as though it's going to go away. When I get up on stage everyone is waiting for me so I walk over to Kellin.
"Actually Kellin...", I began but Jaime grabs the microphone instead and starts yelling to the crowd.
"Hello everybody! We're all so excited to be up here! I hope you all enjoy what we have for you!"
He steps down as Mike walks up to me and asks what I want to play.
"If I had the choice? Nothing. But since I'm stuck here let's go with, Bulletproof Love"
He nods his head and takes his place behind the drum set. As the music starts playing I get that familiar feeling of being safe and surrounded. From the sensation of home, I begin to calm down.
"I breathe you in with smoke in the backyard lights", I started very quietly.
As the song progressed I got more comfortable, and was soon dancing around the stage, singing my heart out.
"Nothing to do, and scream at the drunken moon"
The song ends and I hear the roar of applause from the crowd. I look around until my eyes finally rest upon Kellin. He's applauding as well and there's a smile on his face from ear to ear.
