~Adam
Beep beep beepThe alarm from my phone jolts me up. That annoying ringing echos my room as well as my ears and I turn it off quickly. Turning my head right, I look at the windows that has a little light peering behind the grey curtains like a child would playfully. The phone vibrates in my hand, I look done to see Alice texted me.
"Happy first day of senior year!"
I couldn't help but smirk at the text since it is so her to be excited about things while everyone else is dreading it. With that in mind I get ready for the day.
Walking to school is peaceful. I like to watch the trees move like waves as the wind nudges them to do so. I also like watching happy families leave for work because they remind me of my family, or how we used to be. I didn't know I was at the parking lot until I spotted Alice's parked car, I causally go up to the passengers window and see she's doing her breathing exercises. After what those assholes said to her, Alice told me about her anxiety and her exercises that helps her.
I open up the car door and get in. When turning to look at Alice, she looks scared and trying to catch her breathe. I most likely scared her. Not wanting to ask questions that might make her uncomfortable, I ask her a simple one. "So," I start off, "You excited for school?"
Alice makes a funny face and laughs at my question, I roll my eyes at her, " Alright, I get it! I'm super hilarious." I say sarcastically. "It's about time you figure that one out." She replies back to me. I give her a sharp look, "Come on bestie, we must enjoy our first day of senior year!" Alice happily says.
Getting out of the car, my eyes travel to Alice to make sure she truly okay. I'm afraid once she sees those guys again it won't be good. It's inevitable for them to gross paths though, I'm gonna try my best to keep her safe but I also don't want her to rely on me. I'm gonna met her halfway. Shaking my head to concentrate, we walk to our homeroom and immediately see people either on their phones or talking to friends.
I sigh as I run my fingers through my red hair, "Hey, Adam you remembered we only have two classes together plus lunch, right?" Alice asks.
"Oh shit, we do?!" I fake being surprised and Alice falls for it. Alice, herself gets shocked at my comment, "Adam! I told you a million-." I cut her off by saying, "I remembered, shorty!" I laugh at her, I laugh even harder when she puff out her checks when she pouts. "Stop calling me short!" Alice orders.
"Okay okay, I will!" I surrender with my hands raised up, "Shorty."
Before she could hit me with her book bag our homeroom teacher strolls in. "Adam." Alice whispers.
"Mmm."
"I'm scared." She admits to me, and judging by her expression, to herself as well. "Why?" I ask, she averted her eyes to her table then at the teacher and finally me, "I feel alone, and I know I'm not but every since what they said it..." She rambles on, "It what?" I ask.
"It bruised my heart."
Those mother-
"But I'm gonna try to make more friends!" She determines, shyly she looks at me, "Therefore, you won't get tired of me."
I shake my head with a smile, "Impossible. Matter of fact, you keep me awake." I honestly say.
~Alice
My heart quickens as the bell signals the end of the homeroom period. This is where Adam and I part ways, I guess Adam can see my nerves showing through my eyes, since they tell all. Giving my shoulder a gentle squeeze he nods at me and I smile back.
Walking down the hall in the sea of students, who carry me to my first class. Eyes meet mine then go back to either their phones or friends. I on the other hand didn't have the luxury of having friends. I only have one and he's on the other side of the school. Hastily, I sit a second row desk by the window, I start the familiar dreading feelings of my heart starting to beat quicker.
It sounds like a ferocious army marching towards me. Next my hands start to shake a little and I feel warm, I breathe in and out, but it won't work! Why isn't it working?
"Hey"
It starts to die down as I turn my head to see a familiar face. "Hey?" I ask back, "You look very familiar."
"I get that all the time!" She groans, "But I'm Jenny, and we've had science class since sophomore year together."
Oh shit!
"Oh shit." I cover my mouth in shock, "I'm sorry!"
Jenny laughs out loud, "It's all good!" She says as the teacher walks in. I feel a lot calmer now which makes me very happy. I get excited over the weirdest stuff.
"And lastly for the science partners are Jenny and Alice."
I blink and realized I wasn't paying attention, "Thank god, we're partners!" Jenny says with a smile, I give one back excitedly.
The teacher was looking some notes, my mind couldn't stop racing to an idea that came to mind for a story about two teens that were assigned science partners and they fall in love. And possibly save each other.
That's sounds cliche, so maybe scratch that idea.

I walk inside my favorite subject with a big grin. Adam sees me and is surprised by the change of my mood, "So I'm gonna just call it and say you had a good morning." He says.
"You, my good sir are correct," I grin at him, "And how was thou's morning?"
"Okay, back to modern English and not Shakespeare or whatever that was," Adam says, "But my morning was cool."
Before anymore conversation started pig noises started to come from the doorway, Adam and I look to see Rex and all of them. They make some more pug nosies which causes Adam to stand up, I caught his wrist before he does anything reckless, "Adam, just let them go!" I say, "Please."
With one last death look at them he sits down and we face the teachers table. My favorite teacher, Ms. James strolls in and greets me because I'm her favorite. Throughout the class we learned that will be writing in journals for a grade. Adam groans at that which she's gives him a look, while he gives her a smile.
The rest of the day was better than I thought. However, at lunch Adam almost got in a fight with Rex which I made him promise not to do anything. Hopefully. he'll listen to me.
