I am utterly unwilling to go
For what I sense ahead is pure evil
Even a young child could see him and know
That the figure they see is the devil
Wearing a disguise to live among me
And he works on the simple, childish heart
He waits until we’re not looking and then
Strikes, ripping, tearing, pulling us apart
Even this evil has the right to love
For the love the Creator freely gave
But this evil does stain even the dove
Young men and women, I pray you, be brave
For eternity in his cave he’ll seethe
For those he hated continue to breathe.
