Arriving at the restaurant, Logan and Aurora stood shoulder to shoulder in front of the entrance. Aurora was terribly nervous and felt stupid for agreeing to the idea of meeting top notch strangers when she came straight from the slum. She had no clue about how to talk like a rich person or be elegant like a high-class citizen. But Logan reassured her and told her to just follow his lead, and let him do most of the talking.
Reaching his arm out to her, Logan bowed. Aurora was confused by his gesture.
"May I?"
Aurora hesitantly linked her arm into his and allowed Logan to lead the way.
As soon as they entered, a bright light blinded Aurora for a brief moment. She shunned the brightness with her forearm, being greeted by a whole mass of individuals sitting at countless table who had abstract titles of 'important' greased across their lavish and expensive attires.
Aurora gulped, feeling a knot twisting and churning in her stomach. Why did I come here...? She thought miserably.
Looking at Logan, he had a confident smile plastered on his face. Aurora could tell that Logan was used to this lifestyle. He had nothing to fear.
But, what about me...? She wondered. Aurora's eyes remained glued to the ground as Logan stopped for a brief moment to look around at the scenery.
"My..." He exhales in awe. "This place is quite packed tonight." Glancing at Aurora, he gave her a gentle nudge. "Hold your head high and look confident. People here will notice your low self-esteem."
Aurora bit her lower lip. "Low...self-esteem?" She looks up at him with anger in her beautiful crisp eyes.
Logan had long craved the desire to stare deep into her luscious pigmented irises for a while now. The artificial lights that lit up the restaurant added excellence to their uniqueness—even if they were a plain color.
Returning his attention ahead, he pulled Aurora along. Aurora wondered which direction Logan was heading in. Making a swift left, Aurora tried to keep up with his elegant speed. "Logan, please...slow down! I can't walk so fast in these high heels!"
"You're fine, dear." Logan begins to yield as they neared a table that looked as though it was gradually isolated—on purpose. He leans over and whispers to the girl, "Catch your breath."
This must be the woman who's going to interview Logan... Aurora's heart began to beat violently. Her heartbeat drummed so loud that it filled her ears with a steady beat of panic, increasing her anxiety. Calm down Aurora. Don't start your anxiety sweats.
"Logan?" She smiles amusingly.
"Yes, that is me," Logan pulls out a chair right on cue, inviting Aurora to sit down.
Aurora was stunned, but she remembered that Logan had told her to follow his lead. Very demurely, she curtsied and thanked Logan, sitting down.
"Here..." He leans close to Aurora's ear. Aurora winced at how ticklish his soft breaths were. "...let me take the jacket for you." Aurora's eyes lit up.
"Right." Stretching her arms out of the sleeves, Logan rested the jacket behind her chair. After that, he sat next to her.
"What a lovely girl you have," The woman smiles intrigued. "And your name?" She reaches a hand out.
Aurora gives Logan a side glance, but sharpened her focus on the woman. Taking her hand, Aurora introduced herself.
"What an elegant name," She nods as she shakes Aurora's hand. "My name is Alice. Pleasure to meet you."
