Unexpected Reunion

"I thought I lost you...."

  Josh looked at her carefully making sure it's not some type of trick to his eyes. He walked forward to her ignoring bodies in the ground, his breathing started to intensify as he comes closer to her. Never in his Spartan's career had he ever get so nervous for one little thing.

  Then after almost like an eternity he was next to her looking at her cautiously. He can see she was looking at him too. He touched her arm. She fidgeted when he touched her arm. Then ...sighing in relief he said to himself, "Thank god she's not one of those Holograms."

  Suddenly a large explosion exploded nearby followed by intense gunfire with loud roar of a tank firing it's main guns, scaring the girl who turned completely pale.

"D-Do you remember me?" she replied after the explosion exploded, finally breaking the silence between them.

  He cocked his head a bit and said, "Partially...but Ale-'' he took off his helmet and was about to say something when unexpected slap came into contact. It stinged at first but he ignored it. Then he saw her crying and was off guard from her emotion. He doesn't know what to do especially this type of situation.

"I've missed y-you..." then she wiped her face and then suddenly she screamed at him. "I thought you died!!!"

  Shocked he said in a soothing voice, "Alexis I'm here, I never died and never will."

  She looked at him but looked down at the floor. The two of them were quiet again when niether of them made eye contact. It was awkwardly quiet until they both said,"It's too quiet..."

  Then noticing that they both said the same thing, Alexis giggled and said,"You didn't change."

  He grinned and was about to reply back when she hugged him tightly. He was surprised and off guard, he was so surprised that he didn't say anything and didnt hug back. Getting hot in his cheeks she softly hugged back when a sudden flashback hit him.....Taking him back to the past......

                               Before the war and the abduction

                                 New Jersey, August 2nd

"I'm going to miss you guys!!!!"

  Everyone around him was hugging,laughing and crying. As he watched everyone do this he watch a specific someone among the group.He only met her only this week and they became such good friends that they almost told each others secrets until their moms told them to sleep because where going to leave back to Chicago..not her because she wasn't family. She was one of my mom's friends, it was a Highschool reunion where we bring the family along with. It was fun after the three nights at Niagara Falls but after we went to New Jersey it got even better.

  They first met each other the next day when he woke up. It was just another day for vacation in NJ heading to NYC when he suddenly saw another girl, he mistooken her as her sister. So he just waved that off and went upstairs to brush his teeth. When he was done. He went back down to eat when he saw a new person among the group. Sitting next to my sister, quietly eating cereals.

  Just quickly looking at her, he went back downstairs to the basement. Shocked. And not because it was a girl as his age, it was her beauty. Immediately he felled upon her. But after countless hours he didn't say anything to her and neither she did. He kept looking at her when she wasn't looking even she did when he was looking. It appeared to go forever, back and forth. Neither wanted to talk but stare at each other when both of them aren't looking..

  Until in Chinatown. finally manning up. He spoke to her for the first time in an almost shy like speech.

"Err....are you F-Filipina?" he asked her when everyone was resting near a resturant."Smart move." he thought mentally smacking himself.
