Josh and Alexis mini Adventure

Somewhere above the U.S

Flying on board the drop ship for almost like nineteen minutes was uneventful especially with the constant incoming flaks and the loud noises of aerial combat. It was getting annoying by the second. And the dogfights raging across the sky kept going and it was already night time and for those who never seen tracer rounds gliding across the night watched it as Fourth of July and Alexis was amazed by it. It was the only thing keeping her mind from the constant bounces of the drop ship,the chance of death and the eerie silent awkwardness where neither of them where talking anymore except the constant battles in the skies and frequent radio chatting heard from the pilots cockpit. So she started a conversation between them.

"Hey Josh, do you remember New York?" she blurted out.

He was sitting next to her who had his eyes closed and was resting his head on her shoulder which she didn't mind to bother. She found it cute.

"Barely? Why, did something happen when we left?"

She looked at him who still had his eyes closed when suddenly a voilent jump scared them, making Josh to stand up where he was and started to scratch his head in irratation.

Then the door gunner return,"We just got lucky, we just missed one of them flaks..." he reported and went back to the cockpit. They where silent again only when Josh went to his pouche again and take out a energy bar which he handed it to Alexis. She took it and opened the wrapper.

"So...?" he started.

"Oh!" remembering the conversation just before she can take a bite."I was just wondering if you remember at all in that brain."

He cocked his head,"Even though I'm not old and I can't remember everything,doesn't mean I can't rememebr NYC."stating it to her.

She smiled, "Oh I obviously knew that! I just wanted to see your reaction."

Something exploded nearby causing the ship to lurched which they ignored completely. They where getting used to it especially for Alexis.When Josh said," You little girl.." he grabs her and hugs her with his hard armor. Her energy bar went flying out of her hand which he caught with his free hand and held on it.

"Ah!!" she wailed completely off guard. He wasn't hugging her intensely but was hugging her softly in a chivalry manner.

Noticing that he is hugging her in a manner like way she looked up at him who is looking down and notice her sudden movement,he look at her beautiful young face. Amazed by her beautiness he just stared. Then she said to him hoping he remember what she said to him at NYC, "You still got that chivarly with you even in this problem?" giggling.

"Girl of course!"

She was glad he didn't change at all and if he did, then she will secretly force him to rechange. But she didn't have too.

Then suddenly the door gunner returned again but with a pale face, he passed by them only to pull out the chain gun that was snuggled hanging on the bipod. He retrieved some ammo from the ammo compartment and reloaded it. After taking no more then twelve second he cocked the retriever and scanned the skies but didn't fire at the incoming enemy jets.

They looked at him as he scanned the skies but continued to hold his fire, it made Alexis to worry and made him sucipious. He looked at Alexis who looked back at him with a very worried look. She could't blame her. So he let go of her, grabbed his helmet from the seat and put it on and handed her the energy bar he caught. Once it was on, everything was pitch-black only when his helmet VISOR turned on and everything from his HUD, and shield bar appeared. He went toward to the gunner when the right side of his VISOR put his rank, name, file and service information.
