Apparently the school was for both girls and boys, but we didn't have any classes together except for probably gym and obviously lunch. Sky was telling me everything I needed to know about the school. She also told me that every morning we have to go to the auditorium for the morning assembly. The auditorium is in the middle of the to wings of the school and so is the gym ad cafeteria.
My nerves kept getting worse with every step I take closer to the school. Sky and Lena were walking in front of me while I was try to hold back. The thought of just leaving and heading home crossed my mind a bunch of times and I was just about to do it when I accidental bumped into someone. Both me and him fell and as I was about to apologize he started to talk to me.
"WATCH WHERE YOUR GOING!" he said with a hint of rage in his voice while he was getting up from on the floor.
At first I wasn't sure what to do so I kept quiet for a while but that didn't help so much as he kept staring at me angrily, so I tried my best to speak to him. "I-I-I'm s-sor..." Lets just say it didn't go out as planned, because he decided to say some thing else.
"Oh Look It Speaks" he said pointing to me so that his friends and him could see me. Him and his friends were all laughing at me as they saw me. I started feeling more gathered around me laughing while I was still on the floor looking down to try avoid seeing anyone.
Suddenly, I hear a very familiar voice "COME ON! GET MOVING! NOTHING TO SEE HERE!". I knew that voice anywhere. It was Sky. I had thought that she had already gone into the auditorium with Lena. Guess I was wrong.
She got her hand out to help me get up from on the floor, which iI did. I mumbled a small 'thanks' as i dusted of my jeans. All of a sudden she pulls me into one of her tight comforting hugs telling me sorry for not being here earlier and leaving me alone.
I instantly pulled away from her "It wasn't your fault, I should have really looked where I was going" I told her in a slight wisper trying to master the best fake smile I can.
We started to walk towards the auditorium but this time she didn't leave my side. Sky leaded me to Lana who was holding to w\empty seats next to her. We took a seat and waited for assembly to start. The principle started off by the normal everyday announcements and then she said that there was a new student attending the school.
"Students I would like to welcome our newest student Ms Ever Daniels" the principle said. I instantly started to sink down in my seat. "Ms Daniels would you please come up on the stage next to me to show everyone who you are."
I felt Lena and Sky push me off of my seat and towards the stage. The principle saw me and motioned for me to get up next to her. I did as she said but kept my head down so that I don't see everyone looking at me and waved my hand. The principle patted my back to tell me to go back to my place. After that assembly was over.
Sky had to go to her classes, so she bid me a goodbye and then whispered something to Lena. We exited the auditorium and started heading towards the secretary's office. On our way there Lena decided to try start a conversation to take away some of the awkwardness between us.
"So... How are you feeling about starting school here?"
"Emm...Pretty nervous I guess" I answered trying to make eye contact with her. When I did, I noticed her staring at the headphones around my neck.
"Ev do you mind if I ask you..." she stopped mid-way throught the sentence thinking of how to say what she wanted to ask me. "...Why do you get your headphones with you here at school?" my eyes widened hearing her ask me a question which I'm not so comfortable talking about.
I stayed quiet and started looking at the ground. I'm guessing she noticed that my headphones aren't such an easy topic to talk about for me. "You know what?, forget if I even asked anything, I'm sorry If I made you feel uncomfortable."
I gave her a reassuring smile and we kept walking in silence toward the secretary. We got my class schedule and locker combination.
****Sky's P.O.V.****
Before leaving Ever with Lena to go to the secretary, I made sure to tell Lena to take care of Ev and make sure she doesn't get into trouble like this morning. With all that said i started making my way towards gym class. Which lucky for me is with that jerk who decided that picking on my cousin is okay.
After changing into my gym outfit, I spotted Julian (the jerk as I like to call him) hanging around his minions. They saw me making my way towards them and they stopped talking about whatever nonsense they were saying. I headed directly towards Julian, I grabbed him from his shirt and pulled his face closer to mine. Confusion was written all over his face, while on mine there was anger.
"LISTEN HERE JULIAN! IF I SEE YOU COME ANYWHERE NEAR EVER I SWEAR IT WILL BE THE LAST STEP YOU MAKE UNDERSTAND?"
"Oh really, and why should I listen to you? and what control do you have over her anyways? you just met her here today like everyone else" he said with a smirk clear on his face. He thinks he just won this but sadly he has no idea how wrong he is about this.
"That's where you're wrong, I've known her all my life and you know why Julian?..." his mind probably went blank by my come back and the smirk on his face instantly fell. He remained quiet not sure of what to say, so I just went along and answered the question for him "BECAUSE SHE'S MY COUSIN YOU DUMB ASS"
After saying that I just let go of his shirt and pushed him towards his monkeys for friends. They all just stared at him all with the same shocked expression on their face. I started to walk away and chuckled as I saw the whole class staring at the speechless jerk surrounded by his speechless monkeys.
As I arrived next to my friends I noticed that all my friends where as speechless expression as the rest of the class. My eyes fell on my best friend Jake who was smiling at what he just saw happening. I got tired of the quiet that just fell in my group so I decided to break the silence.
"Why the heck are you all staring at?"
Jake decided to be the first to speak up "You just stood up to Julian and scared all the heck out of him" I started to smile at how happy he sounded about all this. "I'm so proud of you! you're the first person to ever stand up to him and make him speechless" he said while carrying me into a hug and spinning me around.
"Put..Me..Down..You Goof" I said in between laughs. He put me down and I slapped him in the arm for him picking me up like that. "And It was no biggy. He deserved it for messing with my cousin and the same will happen to anyone who even tries to. By the way guys do you mind if my cousin stays with us for a while as she doesn't know anyone yet?"
"Of course she can and I'll get my brother along as well so that she wont feel out of place as she's not the same age as us" Jake said while the others all nodded in agreement and Smile quickly appeared on my face because of how excepting they were of Ever.
"Thanks guys you're the best. I can't wait to tell Eve" I said while getting them all into a group hug.
