My Mum, Angel and I where on our way to the airport, to welcome my dad who was coming back from Germany, after he left a week ago to go see my aunt who has been living there for around 6 years.
The drive to the airport was quite peaceful and quiet, in a way it could have been perfect if it wasn't for the horrible feeling in my stomach telling me that something bad was definitely going to happen. So, in order to distract myself I wore my headphones and pressed shuffle on my iPod. Music always used to help me get through all sorts of situations and in this case it helped me ease the feeling in my stomach.
As we parked in the airports parking lot my mother receives a call from my dad, which we were not expecting. My mum literally froze while she was hearing what the person on the other side of the line was saying. As she cut the line she quickly rushed my sister and me into the arrivals area of the airport. We were immediately approached by some airport officers. One of the officers took me and my sister near the gift shop, while the other two officers were talking to my mother.
The feeling in my stomach began to increase as I saw the worried face my mother had at that moment. I immediately started to cry as the feeling in my stomach had become unbearable. My mum rushed towards me trying to stop me from crying, but it didn't work. As she noticed the headphones around my neck, she quickly grabbed them and put them on my ears and closed my eyes so that I would be able concentrate on the music instead of on my surroundings. My mother had told the officer who had taken care of me and my sister, to take us to my gran's house while she stayed there awaiting news of my father.
As we exited the airport, I saw an ambulance coming and I instantly felt that there was something wrong with my father. the officer quickly drove us to my gran's house. When I went in the house I immediately started crying even more than i had before. My gran had taken me and my sister into the guest room and stayed with us until we fell asleep or in my case cried my self to sleep.
I was seeing my father on the plane asleep but suddenly I see my very same father in hospital bed life less with a heart monitor by his side, showing a completely straight line. The screeching sound of the heart monitor piercing through my ears, which caused me to wake up from my horrible dream. As I got up from my bed, I went to the bathroom and looked at myself in the mirror seeing tears running down my piercing crystal green eyes. I wiped away some tears but more kept coming down, so I quickly went down the stairs looking for my gran.
I found my gran with my mother crying in the living room. As my mother spotted me we kept looking at each other without uttering a single word to each other. Until I blurted out "DAD IS DEAD ISN'T HE?". My mother just nodded silently taking her eyes away from me. I quickly ran into my mothers arms crying. We had stayed like that throughout the whole night, not even saying a single word to each other, we were just there comforting each other, trying to make each other feel better.
