The first thing Kid saw when he opened his eyes was Crona's face. It startled him. He was going to have to get used to Crona staying here, now. After last night, after that kiss, Crona begged to stay with him. And Kid knew it was going to be a long term stay. But inside, he never expected Crona to go back to the old living space, that Crona would want to stay with him. The birds chirped right outside the window. He got up gently, trying not to wake Crona. Leaving the bedroom he looked over at the sleeping body in the bed and smiled to himself.

Going downstairs, Kid saw Liz and Patty on the sofa, drinking something. "Good morning, girls," He said. Do they know Crona is here? Kid worried.

"So, Kid, Are you coming to Soul's party tonight? Or are you to busy visiting Crona tonight?" Liz ended a little snarky.

The attitude was not very appreciated by Kid. But at least he knew she did know that Crona was sleeping in his bedroom. "I bet I could go. Crona got out of the hospital yesterday."

"Sure, invite the little thing," She showed a lack of any interest in that. Patty had just been watching them. Kid then made the connections.

"You're jealous!" Kid pointed at Liz. "You are jealous of Crona because your not getting as much of my attention lately."

"As. if," Liz said in a mix between anger and a monotone voice. "Hey, Kid, what happened to your rings?" She was clearly trying to change the subject but Kid coulndn't resist explaining. He held up his fingers in front of him in his usual manor of it.

"Allow me to explain," He said. "I lost one of my rings last night and had to remove the other one to bring back the symmetry, of course."

"Interesting... Come on Patty, we have places to be," Liz headed toward the door.

"Okay!" Patty jumped up and followed. She was the first one out the door, followed by Liz. The door opened back up.

"P.S. Kid, get some clothes on!" Liz's voice came through and then the door closed. Kid looked down. He was wearing his slacks and nothing else. It was just the easiest way to get into something comfortable enough to sleep in, without changing in front of Crona. Crona just fell asleep as is. But Kid dressed a little too formal to sleep in.

Remembering what he was doing, Kid walked into the kitchen and got ingredients for pancakes out of the refrigerator. He started to put things together and turned on the stove. Foot steps came down the stairs and into the kitchen. Crona stood in the door way, hair all ruffled, yawning.

Kid started to cook the pancakes after getting out a pan. "Good morning."

"Good morning, Kid," Crona said through a yawn, then stood there silently watching. Then a stomach rumble came through the air.

In minutes the pancakes were done and they sat down at the table with their plates. The syrup was closest to Crona. Twiddling thumbs, Crona said, "You know, Kid, I had a dream last night..."

Kid raised an eyebrow. "Of?"

Looking around nervously, "That you got married to Maka," Crona said quickly.

A chuckle slipped from Kid. "Why in the world would I do that?"

"Because we grew apart and you wanted to be with Maka more."

Kid slid his chair next to Crona and put an arm around. He laughed slightly. "Like that would ever happen." He knew that Crona would probably worry too much about this.

Crona's head rested on Kid's chest and spoke softly "Even if that doesn't happen... Who ever said that this would last..." What was there to say? "What will happen in the future?"

Kid's laugh faded away and he looked off to the side. "Well, um... Who is to say we really know... and uhh... Well, the best I think we can do is stay the way we are now the best we can. That's the way I think.. you know, to have things stay the same. And be conscious of change."

"How am I suppose to deal with that?" Crona muttered.

"With us taking our relationship just one step at a time," Kid replied. He really hoped that there was nothing else to say on the subject because he didn't know what to say in the least bit. Crona buried into Kid's chest.

"Never leave me."

It was later in the day. The bird sounds had all died out. The smell left behind by breakfast was fading. Kid was dressed, now. Crona was napping on the sofa. All was peaceful. Kid sat on the other sofa across the room, reading a book. Then, the phone rang.

Kid got up and answered it. "Hello?" He said, getting his voice back from not talking in a while.

"Kid!" Liz's voice came through the phone. Kid jumped. "Where are you? Why are you not a Soul's party?" She then stopped for a moment. "Don't tell me. Crona's there."

"Well... yes. But so what?" Kid asked.

"So what?" Liz yelled, making him hold the phone away from his ear a little. "You keep choosing Crona over your own weapon partners! You need to get your priorities straight! You know what, unless you come to this party and start hanging out with Patty and me again, don't expect us to come home!" On that note, she hung up.

No! Kid thought. How could it come to this. She was being just like herself, Overreactive. It could have been a bluff... but maybe not. Who could take the chance? Without thinking, Kid marched to the front door and opened it.

"Kid?" A weak voice came from behind him. "Are you leaving?"

He stopped moving and looked back. Crona was rubbing an eye. He forgot about Crona.

"Please don't leave. Why are you leaving?"

"Uhh," was all that came out. He couldn't leave Crona. But he also couldn't just run the risk of losing Liz and Patty. But then again, Liz is probably just jealous that she's not getting as much attention. When Crona is a lot less stable and needs Kid. He also couldn't just bring Crona along because people might see how they acted towards each other and may suspect something between them. Crona didn't want people to know yet. That shouldn't be too long from now and Liz would understand if she knew that she wasn't just being ditched for someone new.

He knew he had to take the risk. Crona was important to him. If this was a situation where he could either lose Liz and Patty forever or have people find out about the relationship by bringing Crona along to a party (Because Kid would never just lose Crona.) then he would. Crona wouldn't want him to lose Liz and Patty anyway, especially if being the cause. So if this was a major situation Crona would probably be okay with it. But it's really not. It was probably a bluff anyway.

"It's nothing." He said closing the door and going over to Crona. He leaned over "How was you nap?"

"It was good," Crona showed a little smile. Kid sat down and Crona cuddled up next to him.

Time went on. It got dark. The Bugs outside started to make noise. Liz and Patty never came home.
