"Mr Black, this came in the mail for you today. ""Put it on the table. " I said while sipping my coffee.
He bowed once before leaving.
Mexico.
A place of salvation. A place of wealth. A place where poor meets rich, and rich meets poor.
It was raining that day. Pouring to be specific. Dark clouds filled the sky, sadness filled the air.
This will be the last time I can see this view from here.
I took the envelope and read it.
hoy es el día
I sighed as I placed the letter back inside the envelope.
The view was dull. But, this will still be the last time I could see it.
I took the box where my things are packed in and left the office.
I haven't finished my coffee, will someone else drink and appreciate it? Or will they throw it away even though it was made so carefully or nicely?
.
.
.
.
.
.The door opened and there greeted Derrick.
"Good evening master. "
"Where's he," I asked while removing my coat.
"Up in his room doing his homework."
"Call him in."
"Yes, master. Is there anything else?"
"When will dinner be ready?"
"In about an hour."
"Alright."
I let him take my coat while I went to my room.
As soon as I opened the door to my bedroom, he was already on the floor kneeling down, waiting for me.
"Welcome home master. Is there a reason as to why you called me?"
"Yes. Come, sit on the bed."
He got up and sat on the edge of the bed.
"Don't you have a sister?"
He took a sharp breath.
He nodded.
"Use your words."
"Y-yes. P-please don't hurt her master."
"Relax. I was just asking. Because your sister is currently with one of my friends. He had bought her."
He bent down. Unwilling to look me in the eye.
"Alright. I just wanted to check. You can go back to your homework."
"I-i'll leave then."
He stood up and closed the door quietly behind him.
I sighed as I leaned at the back of my hands.
What to do now.
*Ring* *Ring*
"Hello?" I answered my phone.
"Today is the day."
"I know. I'll meet you there."
"Alright."
I took a deep breath before leaving.
"Derrick, I'm not eating. Just take my share."
"Alright. Have a safe trip."
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
"Damian." I reached out my hand.
"Alejandro." He shook my hand.
"Long time no see. How've you been?"
"Good. "
"Come on now. You've just been promoted to CEO to Dan's Group, most famous company in Mexico! Why the long face?"
"I became CEO because of my father. I was destined to take over. "
"Still."
"The view was magnificent. One in the world. "
"C'mon Alejandro."
"Enough. Where's the place?"
"Few miles from here. We'll take the car."
>>>>>>>>
And there stood the place that was supposed to be at the back of my head, forgotten.
"Nothing?"
"Nothing. It's been completely abandoned."
You could no longer even tell it was a building. Tattered, abandoned, broken.
"But the way, you know the girl you've bought?"
"Yeah?"
"Don't hurt her. She's a friend of my pet."
"Fine fine. Whatever you say."
I smirked a little.
"By the way, when are you gonna return?"
"Never. It's no longer mine."
"It is Alejandro. "
"It's not. End of discussion."
I spun to go back to the car.
"Burn this place while you're on it."
"You'll regret it, Alejandro."
"No, I won't."
"Right right."
I closed my eyes as I heard the fire starting to crackle. Without looking back, I went back to the car.
Very boring very confusing very short I know. But it's just the beginning of a brand new start of writing. So please bear with it. It'll get better in the future.
