That day Jessie and Tyler experienced something neither would ever speak of again. Julius had indeed left a mark on Jessie, while Tyler was forced to watch his new friend down in the gravel.
The next day Tyler approaches Jessie at his locker. "Hey. About yesterday-"
"Don't."Jessie shut his locker roughly, turning to look at the brunette. Tyler swallowed roughly, looking at the split in Jessie's lip and the bruise that took up the right side of his face.
"Just drop it. I don't want to talk about it."
"Jessie please. I know you don't want to talk about it but we have to."
The raven haired boy took in a deep breath, he wasn't going to cry over this. No fucking way would he cry over Julius, and no way would he cry in front of Tyler.
"Tyler, I'm begging you. Drop it."
Tyler. Jessie didn't often address him by name. It was saved for serious moments, when he wanted Tyler to shut up or go away.
The blonde never did go away though. He always seemed to stick around, to cling. Even after he got his face fucked up, he continued to fucking stick around. He wasn't leaving now either.
Grabbing Jessie's wrist, his hand barely fitting around the thickness, Tyler dragged a very unwilling and pissed off Jessie to the closest janitors closet.
"We're going to be late! You can't keep getting me into introuble, Jockstrap."
The blonde rolled his eyes at the nickname. It hasn't been long but he was already use to the coldness that came with the chubby boy.
"Look, what you went through didn't just effect you. I had to watch it, and not be able to do anything. So can you please just talk to me about this? It's driving me crazy keeping it all bottled up. I feel like I'm going to explode."
Silence. He was met with the most unsettling quiet he has ever had to deal with.
"After school. There's a place I go to think. We can talk about what happened there. But you have to promise me it's just us. We went through this together, nobody else gets to know. We can talk to eachother and eachother only. Got it?"
Relief. It wasn't anything big but Tyler felt relief. He didn't have to keep this in. Jessie didn't have to keep this in. He'd be able to talk to Tyler about whatever was bothering him.
"Okay, deal."
As childish as it was, he wrapped his pinky around the chunkier boy's pinky.
"It's a promise."
"You're so dumb. Stop playing football I think you got a concussion. I'll see you after school."
He pulled his hand away from the other, wiping it off on his pants and shoving out the door to class.
They would both be late, but it was worth it.
