Alcohol referenceDetention was fucking boring as hell. They had to sit in tiny desks with the chair attached. The table pressed into Jessie's pudgy belly making his face red with embarrassment. The other kids sat in their chairs and folded easily so they're feet could rest on the table. They had papers they had fill out. "Why are you in detention? Are you regretful? What can you do to be a better student?" That type of bullshit. Nobody really did the papers. They mostly just fucked around or sat quietly until the time was up. The teacher looked pissed off and didn't really care if the papers were done or not. Tyler sat in the seat next him, making Jessie roll his eyes.
"Hey!" Tyler chirped happily.
Jessie groaned practically slamming his head down on the desk, hiding in his face in his hoodie sleeves.
"Don't sound so fucking happy to be in detention."
"Come on, this could be bonding time."
Jessie snorted but cracked a small smile.
"Yeah sure bonding time. Maybe after we're done here I can pull out a pocket knife and carve our initials in a heart on the desk." He playfully batted his eyes at the jock who laughed quietly."Give me a break. Guys like you don't bond with guys like me. Now leave me alone. You've gotten me in enough trouble." Jessie grumbled turning his eyes back to the desk.
He was already in trouble when he got home. He had to text his father and tell him he would be late. His father's exact reply was "Fucking piece of shit. You need to clean the fucking house, it stinks. Stop getting in trouble and make yourself useful." In other words, his father had made a mess of beer bottles and chip bags and was too lazy to clean it. It also translated to "I need my maid and I'm going to beat you until you forget your name when you get home." Jessie was ready for it.
"Come on man." Tyler nudged the chubbier boys arms . "Don't be such a downer. I'm just trying to be your friend."
Jessie's head perked up a little and he stared at Tyler, head tilted slightly and eyebrows roughly furrowed.
"Is this a Carrie situation? Are you going to ask me to prom next and then pour pigs blood on me?" It was half joking and half serious. He's had the popular kids ask to be his "friend" before. It ended with him getting his clothes stolen and thrown in front of a convenient store. He had to walk home in his boxers. No socks, No shoes, when he got home his feet were sore and had small scraped from the road.
"What? Uh no?" The blonde boy was confused. He was a nice boy, he wouldn't do that to anyone. Why does Jessie think he's some mean jock?
"Riiiighhht. look why don't you just leave me alone. I want some quiet."
"Oh, okay." Tyler leaned back in his seat and chewed on his lip nervously. He wasn't use to having somebody not like him. Everybody liked him right?
Jessie sighed and laid his head back on the table. Maybe he could get a few hours of sleep.
Of course that was too much to ask for. He felt the familiar cold, wet sting hit his neck. A spitball. A fucking spitball. Do you see how mature these fuckers are. He lazily wiped the saliva covered paper off his neck and tried to ignore the comment that he heard.
"Dude bulls eye."
"Bullshit that's cheating. Nobody could miss a target that big."
Jessie clenched his eyes shut tightly. He would not cry in front of anybody. Fuck those asshole. After graduation he will never have to deal with them again.
"Hey why don't you keep your spit in your fucking mouth?"
Jessie groaned and tried to curl up in an even tighter ball but he knew it was impossible. He would never be one of those kids who could curl up and make themselves small because Jessie was simply big. And Tyler was simply loud and picking a fight on Jessie's behalf.
"Why don't you make me, Jockie?" His name was Julius. He wore ripped jeans and a jean jacket with combat boots. He was every stereotypical bad boy ever. Long black hair was slicked back, knuckles bruised, lung probably full of smoke.
As much as Jessie hated to admit it, Julius was his wet dream come true. He'd follow accounts on Instagram of guys that resembled him. But guys like Julius were only pretty to look at, their personalities were shit and toxic. He was just as bad as the jocks who bullied him.
"I said leave my friend the fuck alone dude. He didn't do anything to you."
The teacher in the front sighed rubbing his temples.
"No fighting during my shift. Shut up and sit down. We don't have that much longer to go. Just be quiet."
Julius laughed. "Sure thing Mr. G. As for you male Barbie, we'll settle this later. I'll let you have the rest of detention time with your boyfriend." Jessie could hear the kissy noises Julius was making and his face heated up.
"Thanks that'd be real great." Tyler replied.
Jessie's breathe hitched. Had he just told Julius they were boyfriends? Oh no. Hell fucking no.
Jessie pushed out of his desk, almost tripping as he squeezed his stomach out of the tight space. He quickly turned to Julius, breathing heavy and face flushed.
"He is NOT my fucking boyfriend! I'm straight!" He wasn't sure why he felt the need to add the straight part. He knew it wasn't true. But he wasn't ready to be out. He couldn't handle another thing to be targeted for.
"Jessie. Sit down." Mr.G said through gritted teeth.
The room's eyes were on the sized up boy. All starring in amusement, as if he was some kind of freak show or comedy act there for their entertainment. Jessie nodded and quickly squeezed back in his seat. He was embarrassed. He was humiliated. And it was all Tyler's fault. That asshole probably did it on purpose to embarrass him. He was probably going to laugh about this with his friends. Give them new bait to get him on. Fuck.
