Miranda bit her thumb as she paced around the room, trying to think of any new plan that she could do regarding the rumors Peter was spreading. There was no way she could bring herself to even scratch her friend, right?

Peter and Miranda had been friends for 12 years. They were neighbors for about 5 years until Peter moved a city over, but when his  parents got broke, they decided to move back to Miranda's city a few neighborhoods over. They attended all the same schools and would spend a lot of time together. Things changed when they got to high school. They were both swamped with homework and studies, but they still tried to hang out as often as they could.

Tomorrow would be Friday, so that's when she had to put her plan in action. Maybe the rumors weren't as bad as they could get, but she had to stop her friend before things got out of hand.

Miranda changed into her pajamas and went downstairs to eat an empty dinner. She wasn't very hungry, she just wanted to get dinner out of the way as fast as she possibly could so she could go back to brainstorming in her bedroom.

Miranda's mom gave her a warm smile while sliding her chicken dinner over to her. Miranda ate quickly, her mom watching with confusion as she ate, which was understandable. She never really was a heavy eater, despite being a tad bit overweight for her age.

Miranda complemented her mom's dinner before heading to her room. Now, you're probably thinking, why can't Miranda just ask Peter to stop spreading rumors? Wouldn't her best friends understand? Well, you don't know Peter. He was very stubborn and him and Miranda always joked about serious things, as teenagers do. Even if Miranda cried and pleaded, she probably wouldn't get through to him. She just knew it.

After about an hour of coming up with a plan, Miranda was tired and ready to retire for the day. It was around 11 o'clock as she was supposed to be asleep an hour ago. She closed up her laptop and tried to fall asleep, trying not to think about having another nightmare.

The next morning, Miranda was exhausted. she was running on about 6 hours of sleep and couldn't remember her dream, which was disturbing to her in a way. She reached down and patted her kitty, who was on the foot of her bed, on the head and poured some milk and soft cat food into a plastic bowl for her cat. Her mom was going out after Miranda got home to go pick up some supplies for her to give her cat, which would give Miranda some time after school to collect her thoughts after the events that would happen at school.

Miranda got ready and stepped outside to wait for the bus, skipping breakfast. It was silent and gloomy, some rain spuddering on the ground as one or two birds sang. She could hear her heartbeat with the lack of cars on the street. She heard the far off noise of gas letting out of the bus as it shuttered to a stop, about two houses away from her.

She closed her eyes and exhaled as she pulled a crumpled piece of folded paper from her pocket. She went over her plan in her head as the rain fell a bit faster. As the bus arrived, she folded the piece of paper back and shoved it in her pocket.

She didn't have any friends on the bus, so this gave her a perfect time to revise her plan. She bit her tongue as her pen glided across the paper with the plan on it that would soon be activated in a couple of hours.

Of course, her plan wasn't the first course of action she would take. She would first try to talk to Peter, which she knew wouldn't work, but it was a much better thought than trying to get him isolated so she could could work her magic.

After getting to school, she saw Peter at the entrance talking to his boyfriend, Jack. Peter saw Miranda coming up, so he kissed Jack on the cheek and playfully pushed him away as they both waved at each other. Peter met Miranda halfway and smiled at her.

"It's about time you showed up, doesn't your mom usually drive you?" He was right. Miranda's mom did usually drive her. But the bus was a perfect way to put the final touches on her game plan.

"Yeah, I was kind of tired so thought I would try to catch some shut eye on the bus."

"Ok, solid answer. anyway, let's get to class, it starts in about five minutes. You're lucky my stupid ass decided to wait for you." Peter smiled.

Miranda and Peter parted ways for a few minutes as they each went to their respective locker to get their math books. Miranda glanced over her paper once more before locking it away in her locker.

After math, it was time for break. It was about 9:45, which gave her 3 hours before her go time.
