Sodas pov

I woke up and Aurora had her back facing me and she was fast asleep. I got up out of the bed and tiptoed as quietly as I possibly could over to the door. I twisted the handle ever so slowly and opened the door. I stepped out then twisted the handle again and shut it ever so lightly. I then walked down to Coles room and just opened the door like I would any other day. He could sleep through a tornado.

I looked at my crazy 17 year old boy and couldn't help but just think back to old times. Times when I was still deployed in the army and I snuck off to see Aurora and to see him be born. But those days were over now. I own the Dx now, Don retired. So now I got more bills, more stress, and a good place to get my kids up to do some work in the summer.

"Cole." I whispered and lightly shook him.

He didn't budge.

"Cole." I whispered a little louder this time.

He still didn't budge.

"Cole!" I yelled and shook him real hard.

He still didn't budge. I walked into the bathroom and got the ice water cup and filled it with cold water. I then walked back into his room and poured the cup all moved his head.

"Ugh, I'm up, I'm up." Cole said and groaned.

"Then show me that your up and get your lazy butt outa bed." I said and stepped back to the doorway.

He stood up slowly and carefully walked over to the doorway. I backed up so he could get out then watched him as he walked to the bathroom. Next I moved on Sadie's room, Sadie's 16.

"Sadie time to get up y'all got work today." I said after just opening the door. I closed it once I was done and I heard a groan then some movement. Soon after Sadie emerged from her bedroom with a nasty case of bed head.

"Wow you look great." Cole said sarcastically.

"Shut up," Sadie answered in a groggy voice and slapped his arm as hard as she could.

"Oh ow it hurts so bad." he said in a little kid voice and acted like he was crying.

"Heck yea it does I got some power." she said then kicked his stomach and he barely even moved.

Cole and I just laughed and went about our ways. I don't really know if she thought that actually hurt him or not. Well if she did know she was ok with it, but if she didn't were just gonna go with it, what she doesn't know won't hurt her. I walked down the stairs and into the kitchen to see the last person I wanted to see this morning.

Auroras pov

I woke up and Soda wasn't in bed but I could here Sadie and Cole talking, he probably is already awake. I got out of the bed and opened the door to reveal a empty hallway. I looked in Coles room, no Cole. I looked in Sadie's room, no Sadie. I looked in the bathroom no Cole or Sadie. I walked down the stairs to see a guy holding a switch to Sadie's neck and yelling at Soda and Cole. I stayed up on the stairs so I want seen but I could hear the conversation.

"Look, I got the girl. We can all go in piece if ya just let me take my girl and leave." the guy said with a smug smile.

"You're not going anywhere buddy." Soda said and glared at the guy.

"You wanna go don't ya sweetie?" the guy looked down at Sadie trying to be all lovie dovie but couldn't wipe the smug smile off his face.

"She's not going anywhere with you you piece of *insertcolorfullanguage*" Cole said and glared at him.

"Oh you finally wanna speak up huh?" the guy asked and looked and Cole and grimaced.

"I wanna do way more than that buddy." Cole said and cracked his knuckles.
