Snake Season

Chapter 3: Humans and Snakes Unite

Nathan, Lance, and Alexis sat at the lunch table and read their books in peace as the world behind them went on. Alexis was reading a history book, Lance was reading a comic book, and Nathan was reading a fantasy story. Suddenly a shake went through the entire school. The fire alarms set off and everyone ran outside. they all seen huge sized snakes come from out the earth from afar. Alexis stood in awe as the huge snakes attacked innocent vehicles far away. You could see the snakes for miles. she seen frost and stood still as her mind was rapidly spinning with ideas. The biggest one being that the legends of the seasonal snakes was true. Suddenly huge fighter jets fly over the school. Alexis cried out "Don't attack them!" 

Nathan looked as the fight went on suddenly the snakes bolted straight to the school. Frost burst out of the forest as she went forward. after her Orla and Leo raced after, shortly followed by willow. frost left a trail of snow behind her to slip up the trucks following them 

"let's follow them" Nathan shouted getting in his car. Lance and Alexis got in as well and they drove off following the action. the tucks behind them where slipping but for some reason Nathan's car was straight and going perfectly fine. Nathan was questioning what was going on at the time. The chase was on and Nathan's driving seemed to improve as he drove. Orla and Leo were behind Frost as Willow struggled to keep up. 

"willow hurry up!" Leo shouted as his body began to slow down. The lack of experience began to to take place on the snakes. The millions of years underground was slowing them down. Their massive bodies slowed as they searched for an escape way. Sadly the small town lacked of any places to hide. Frost suddenly realised that running away wasn't the trick anymore. She slithered around and looked at Orla and Leo. Willow caught up and looked at frost. They all looked at each other and gave slight nods. The trucks caught up and men came out with guns ready to shoot at the majestic beast in front of them. Frost hissed at them. 

"Put your weapons down and we will speak as civilised beings." One of the men held his hand up and looked at Frost. she towered over him. Her fangs were bigger than he was. he spoke eventually. 

"What are you? Where did you come from? Why did you attack us?" Frost nodded and looked at the man looking at her. she moved closer to him. Leo and Orla rose up and Willow curled up and rested as the rest were about to talk. 

"I am Frost, and this is my team. We are the guardians of the seasons. I am the snake of Winter. Willow is the snake of Spring, Leo is the snake of Summer, and Orla controls Autumn. Our job is to protect the earth and keep nature in check." The man's jaw was wide open as he heard the legends speak. Leo and Orla were now surrounding the men slowly as they listened to Frost's voice. Nathan saw the gathering ahead of him. The whole town was listening to theses stories everyone in town was there. Frosts voice sent a soothing wave across everyone. Alexis smiled at the thought. 

"You humans trapped us underground. we have been waiting underground for the spell to crack. and it did. We are back to protect earth from harm." Leo's voice was stern and more forceful. like a soldier and priest had fused and was now one. His words were powerful. Orla hissed and began to speak.

"we attacked because you humans are harming Earth with your machines." her voice was like a wise teacher. Her eyes were glowing orange, so her words were vibrant and energetic. Willow uncoiled and began to speak. 

"We can not have this. Earth is a jewel that needs to be protected, not destroyed by your toxic gasses. Your destroying the barrier. The barrier that keeps you humans cool and warm. If you burn the barrier we can not make another one" willow's voice was an old kind woman. It was sweet and hopeful. The man in the front dropped his gun.

"My name is Carlton, i'm sorry for attacking you, but you attacked first. I guess we are even now though?" Frosts eyes grew as her smile finally showed up. 

"I guess so. Now where are we? It's been awhile since we have been up here." Carlton scratched his head and looked at the four snakes in confusion. 

"well your in Oklahoma." Frost nodded. 

"well be on our way now thank you for understanding." Carlton hesitated and looked at this men wondering what to do about the massive damage done to the town. The school had been decimated and he was confused on what exactly he needed to do. 

"W-What about our town? You kind of destroyed it." Frost looked at Carlton. 

"GET DOWN!!" suddenly a huge hole opened up from underneath the ground. Dark purple eyes were shining brightly as a long slender reptile slithered from the ground. A black snake with cobra like features. He was huge. He looked at frost with deep despair. Frost hissed, Leo and Orla both jolted after him with their teeth pointed sharp. Willow hissed alongside Frost. 

"hello old friends i've missed you all so very much" 

"Dante, It has been awhile."
