¤CHAPTER FIVE¤
The next few days of school have been completely uneventful. My classes started to feel like they've dragged on forever and the only thing that kept me grounded was knowing that I got to go home after the end of it all.
Since our last encounter I haven't spoken to Khadir. Now it seems that he makes an effort to avoid my gaze and just ignore my presence completely.
Why was I thinking about him?
He seems to want nothing to do with me, and I'm not satisfied with that. These past few days I've been forcing myself to stop thinking about him but to no avail I found myself thinking of him more.
He seemed so mysterious and calm but from the look his eyes hold I knew there was something else the lies deep within. What it is? I don't know. But I want to find out, something about him just doesn't seem right.
The sound of my phone buzzing startled me out of my thoughts. I quickly rolled on the other side of my bed and reached for my phone that was resting on my nightstand.
There were 2 missed calls and multiple texts from Linaya.
Oh shit, I completely forgot!
Linaya had invited me to go out to eat with her and her friends. Over the past 2 weeks I've been hanging out with them. I honestly enjoyed their company, they were funny. And I love funny people.
Jumping out of bed I quickly read over her texts.
Linaya: where are you? Your ass best not be asleep
Linaya: Nora, why are you such a flop?
Linaya: wake your ass up before I pull up
Quickly I texted her back. We've been planning on going out a week in advance because something would come up causing us to not be able to hang out. Like one us over sleeping for one.
I'll be there in 10 minutes, im omw rn.
Quickly I threw on a pair of denim jeans and an oversized white hoodie. 99 percent of the time I don't wear a shirt underneath because it makes me feel less constricted.
Grabbing my wallet off my dresser and tucking my phone in my back pocket I quickly descend the stairs. When I reached the kitchen I checked the clock on the wall, it was 8:44, I had to hurry.
"Woah, where are you rushing off to?"
Turning in the direction of the voice I saw my dad lounging on the couch watching TV.
"I'm gonna go meet up with a few friends, I won't be long," I saw Dimitri's car keys laying on the counter and grabbed them.
"It's dark out, you know how I feel about you and your brother going out late at night," sighing I rubbed my temples.
I was in my senior year of high school and my dad was still treating me like I'm in elementary school.
"It's only 8, that's hardly late," I didn't have time to sit here and argue with him.
He contemplated what I was saying, "Okay, you can go out. On one condition," I raised my eyebrow in a questioning manner.
He got up off the couch and began making his way into the hallway that leads to our garage. The hall had 3 doors. The garage door, the storage room, and a locked door that contained a shrine from what I remember. The last time it's been open was when my mother was still alive.
