I used to ask my Grandma;
"Why would people want to die, and end their existence when they have so much to live for? So much to see, to discover? To get away from it all and still be happy?"
Of course she would never tell me, and always respond with, "The world just isn't the same anymore."
But after a few years, I pieced it together..
"No Grandma, your wrong. It isn't the world's fault that makes them want to die. It's themselves."
