Enchanted chains are holding down Loki. The god is on his knees, dark rings around his eyes and a grim expression on the face. The chains prevent him from using his magic, so he can only sit there and stare at the person in front of him, some disfigured-looking alien.
"Where is the Tesseract?", the being demands to know.
"I already told you, I don't have it anymore. Neither does Asgard. I guess you're coming a little late." Loki's voice is angry, but still filled with his typical arrogant tone. "And now you better let me go. If you do, I might show mercy and won't kill you."
The alien laughs, slapping Loki's face and leaving a red bruise there. "You are not in the position to demand anything. You do exactly know where the Tesseract is. You are obsessed with it. But if you refuse to speak, we have to make you."
Loki just chuckles, rolling his eyes. "Do what ever you want. Torture me, I still cannot tell you where it is. I simply don't know." And it wasn't a lie. After the happenings of New York, Loki had never seen the Tesseract again. Maybe Odin had hidden it somewhere in the 9 realms, or they kept it on earth.
"Oh, we won't torture you, don't worry." The alien turns his back at Loki, calling one of his henchman. "Bring her in!"
The door of the cell opens a the henchmen bring in a young woman. Instantly, Loki's face turns white and he starts to pull on his chains, causing enomous pain in his wrists. It was you, the person that means the most to him. His lover, his heart, his life.
"You better take your filthy hands off her, or you are going to regret it", Loki growls with a deadly gaze. The alien ignores him, looking at you. You stay confident, chin up, returning his look. "You heard what my king said. Let go of me, or you'll regret it."
The alien chuckles. "I see why he likes you. So strong, so independent, so confident. It would be a shame if someone breaks you."
With these words, he punches his big fist into your stomach, causing you to groan. "Y/N!", Loki screams, "Leave her alone! She has nothing to do with it!"
"It's okay, Loki. I received harder punches back in time. I can stand it", you say between clenched teeth, staring hateful at the alien. He just grins, turning back at Loki. "So, where is the Tesseract?" "I told you I don't know!"
Another punch, this time in your back. You fall on your knees, trying to ignore the pain in your spine. You have to stay strong. You won't give him the satisfaction of breaking you. And you won't let Loki see you suffer because it would destroy him. He needed you.
"Mh, you are a brave girl. Let's see how you deal with this."
The alien takes a strange device, aiming its tip at the back of your neck. He pulls the trigger and suddenly you feel a pain which is incomparable to anything you have ever experienced.
You feel like every organ in your body is torn apart. The blood in your veins seems to freeze, your brain close to exploding and you cannot breath. There is only one thing you can do: scream. Loudly, shrilly, and painfully.
"Stop it! I can't tell you anything!" Loki's voice sounds far away, but it is full of fear. And suddenly the pain is gone and you sink to the floor, your whole body trembling. "Y/N!" You try to lift your head, meeting Loki's painful expression. It is a mix of fear and rage.
You take a breath and manage to smile. "It's okay, Loki. I-I'm fine...please....d-don't worry." Both of you know it is a lie, but you have to say it. You don't want him to suffer. Don't want him to blame himself for what these bastards do to you.
The alien smiles again. "So, Loki of Asgard, King of Jotunheim, master of mischief. You keep lying? Won't tell me where you hid the Tesseract?"
"I DON'T HAVE IT ANYMORE! MAYBE ODIN DOES! OR THE MIDGARDIANS! JUST LEAVE HER ALONE THE FUCK!"
"Is that so. Well, maybe you are actually telling the truth. But how should I trust you, god of lies? I think we should check if you are really telling the truth." And again he uses his infernal device on you, longer this time. Your shrill screams echo in the cell, and Loki feels as if his heart breaks into pieces.
All this years, he only wanted you to stay safe. And now you are here, being tortured for things he triggered in his past. He will always blame himself for what is happening to you right now.
But except for his self-blaming, there is something else seething inside of him. Rage and bloodlust. He'll make them pay for it. He'll kill every single one of them in the most brutal way. He'll extinguish their whole species.
And he'll make sure that you stay safe. That you can recover from this torture. That you can forget it one day.
Spurred on by his own thoughts and feelings, Loki feels all his power, all his might, summoning in his body. The enchanted chains do not matter anymore, neither do the weapons of the aliens. With one smooth movement he is back on his feet, the chains falling from him. The leader of the aliens stops your torture, looking at Loki in surprise. Meanwhile, you stay laying on the floor, drifitng into unconsciousness. Loki, however, looks at the alien cold-eyed. The energy of his might is almost audible, like a low crackling.
"And now", he says, his voice only a sharp whisper, "You'll pay."
