The Sword

Prologue

Aya was running through the streets of a bustling city trying to evade the enemy shinobi following her. As she was running through the crowd when one of the civilians grabbed her. She could feel the ironlike grip under the glove of her assailant. The attacker lifter her by her cloak and threw her into the wall of the marketplace besides them. She could feel from the strength of the throw that he had cybernetic augmentations. He was one of the Samurai. They were the guardians of the city she had her mission in, and where one of them appeared, more were sure to follow. Aya had been betrayed by her companions, and then she had to run into a samurai...

"Well, well, well... Who do we have here?" a mocking voice echoed through the crack, the samurai swiftly followed her and stood in front of her. "I wonder what Aya, the red shadow would be doing in the fair city of Misago? You are quite far from home little lady!" He said while shaking his head. "Don't worry you can come out now and kill this bitch" cried the samurai out, only to have her team members leave the shadows.

"Hiro, Mei why are you doing this?" Aya panted, out of breath as her body doubled over while using the wall to stand up.

"You don't have to know Aya!" came the indifferent male voice from under the modulator. The Anbu mask they wore left them faceless, voiceless. They didn't matter as a person, only their skill mattered to Madara, the Anbu leader. He had been named after one of the legendary Shinobi of the Prehistoric Era. "I feel shame that it has to be done, but you cannot leave Misago!"

"Ha ha ha... you make us sound so noble Hiro!" Laughed Mei crazed. "Truth be told, we just hated you! Ha ha ha... how the mighty Aya fell. You were so arrogant, so overbearing. But you never thought that one day we would have enough." She took out one of her silenced modified pistols from its holster and shot Aya in the leg, making her collapse only to laugh even harder. "Quite literally if you get my drift."

"Goodbye old friend." Hiro said emotionlessly as he released a jutsu on his former comrade. "Fire style:  Raging breath!" Hiro and Mei turned around and walked away from their screaming team member, writhing on the floor in agony as she was burned alive, Mei laughing at her misery.

Well, I want to tell to all my readers, that you don't have to worry, this will take place in the timeline where Naruto is alive, not in this futuristic world. Also, there won't be guns, as far as I can tell :P (which says that there won't be any since this is my book) but I did have to get this book started somehow. Well apart from that the Naruto timeline will change, a lot. And I will also try to make the background characters who didn't have a lot of screen-time flesh out a bit more and give them more of a character. This is a project I am doing to challenge myself and see if I can write something. I will tell it to you now though. I am not writing this to get views, so saying something like I  will drop the book if you don't do something, or I will drop if you do... I will just tell this to you now: I do not care! Read it if you like it drop it if you don't. Now I will not turn down good criticism, like  Hey Trilamul you messed up, you wrote: Your welcome Naruto! But instead, you should have written: You're welcome Naruto!  So yeah that is about it. I thank you all for reading my Fan-fic. I don't own Naruto, and its characters, but I do own my Oc: Aya/Machiko.

Warning:

The plotline will change, how much I don't know yet, I will have to think about, how Machiko (who doesn't know what happened at this time) and her interactions with the characters will 'change' the future. But I do know that they will get a father figure quite early and that in and of itself will change already a lot (like Naruto won't be such a prankster and as such he won't be a prankster. Kakashi will ask to become Naruto's sensei,  and the Hokage will ask him as the last wielder of the Sharingan Dojutsu, to teach Sasuke. But I don't know yet if I will make Machiko join them on team 7 and put sakura somewhere else, maybe fail her entirely. Or put Machiko in a full Oc- team (right now I find this the most probable) if this happens with Genma as her Jonin teacher.
