Luke was waiting by the palace entrance when Enda arrived. It was early morning, and although the weather was always warm in Thyssilla, he couldn't help but notice a slight chill in the air.
"You got my note," he said, glancing down at the tunic and pants she donned.
Her eyes brightened when she saw him. She gave him a shy smile, fidgeting with the leather strap of her bag.
"Is it true? That Ylene's Mirror sent you a vision?"
"I saw where my friend is, where I have to go." He looked away. Here comes the hard part. "It's a place called the Citadel."
Her mouth opened, but she seemed at a loss for words.
"That's... That's in Agon," she said.
"Yes."
"It's passed the wards."
"I know."
She bit her lower lip, the thoughts almost visible on her face.
"I know I'm asking for a lot," he admitted. "I can only imagine how hard it would be for you to leave Thyssilla, considering the Centennial War. But I trust you, Enda. If anyone can help me get there, it's you."
She turned away, her eyes looking everywhere but Luke. It was as if she was taking it in, not just the words but also the scenery, the trees and the magick around them. She would be leaving it all behind, he thought.
"I'll need to pack more herbs," she finally said. "And a cloak. I heard the human kingdoms grow cold."
A smile broke out onto Luke's face, letting the wave of giddiness wash over him.
