Sixteen weeks out of an average of fourty passed by, flying. Hanzo would already catch himself staring into the mirror and noticing how his baby bump was growing so fast.
It was a doctor appointment day and both of them were as nervous as they could be. They were about to find out what sex their baby was.
After a really long wait, they were finally called and the doctor could see the nervosism in their eyes and didn't took long to prepare Hanzo for the ultrassound and give them the answer they were so impatient to hear.
"Yep, 100% sure it's a baby boy.", at last.
"Well, in a certain way, wouldn't matter. Boy or girl I'll raise them the best I can.", McCree finally admited.
The doctor gave them a few advices for the weeks to come and they left the office.
Hanzo then felt like eating ice cream so they went for it. They ordered and sat down in the coffee balcony just contemplating the beautiful warm day. Then Hanzo remembered:
"I'll raise them the best I can."
"What's that?"
"You said 'you'd raise them'... Weren't we supposed to give him for adoption?", Hanzo laid his hand on his belly.
"Oh... we were. But I don't think I'll be able to do it... The more I think of it, the less I think I'll have the guts to give my own baby away. Sure it was unplanned and fruit of a pheromone temptation but what's so wrong with it? It's still my... our baby... our son."
"I suppose..."
Hanzo was thoughtful for a long time after what McCree said. He was right. This baby deserved to be with his biological parents, the ones who truly brought them into this world. Then he imagined, once again, what will it be to hold that tiny being in his arms and watch him grow. In a second thought, he really felt close to McCree now, as he always lived with him, as if they... were meant to be.
