Chapter 23

Aaron's POV:

Finding Andy looking through old things was in a way disappointing. I had seen the box before and what was inside but I never asked her about it.

Now I realize that she kept her past in a box and she was afraid of letting it come back.

I understood because things changed back home. Mom and dad no longer loved each other like when I was a kid.

After mom had surgery over breast cancer. Dad no longer looked as happy as before. I couldn't handle that so I left.

I feel guilty because I left Andy behind but I couldn't help her unless I helped myself first.

I came home at 3:00 a.m. and found Andy sleeping on the couch. The t.v. screen was blue because a movie had ended.

I took the movie out and realized it was moms favorite movie. I smiled and saw Andy holding something in her hand.

A picture of mom, dad and her. They looked so happy. I put the picture in my pocket and picked Andy up.

I took her to bed and stuck the picture onto the wall. I stepped outside ,closed the door and just fell on my bed.

Without even realizing I fell asleep.
