Crash! I woke up to a loud noise downstairs. It was Saturday, no way was I getting up early. I closed my eyes and drifted back to sleep only to hear something else shatter a few minutes later. "Ughh. Mom, be quiet!" I grumbled covering my ears with a pillow. "Wait... mom?" I sat up instantly and looked to my alarm clock, it was 8:23 AM. My mom should have been at work by now. What was making the noise downstairs? I heard somebody shuffling across the floor. I yelled a little louder, "Mom!?" The noise stopped. Okay, now I was a little worried.
I slipped out of bed keeping as quiet as possible and eased over to my closet. Inside I grabbed a baseball bat just in case I needed to protect myself. Making my way to the door, I peaked out. I couldn't see anybody at the foot of the stairs which lead to the living room. The person must be in the kitchen.
I had tiptoed halfway down the stairs when I realized that I was still in my pajamas. I wore a gray sleep shirt and plaid red boxers. What an idiot. I sure looked tough holding a baseball bat in my underwear. This is why I don't wake up before 10:00 AM on Saturdays.
I didn't have time to go back up and get dressed without risking the intruder leaving or stealing something. I continued my hunt. As I suspected the living room was clear. I continued into the kitchen.
The tile floor was cold on my bare feet, and a slight breeze blew through a hole in the screen door that lead to our backyard. More importantly though, the kitchen was a mess. Cereal and other food was spilled all over the floor, several plates and cups had fallen out of the cupboard and shattered, and the most unusual thing was a trail of muddy paw prints leading outside. A wave of relief washed over me knowing that it was just a pokemon who had broken in. I followed it's trail outside.
Luckily our backyard was fenced so nobody would see what I was, or in this case, wasn't wearing... Pants. The yard was almost as bad as the kitchen. My mom's garden was dug up, all her vegetables and berries were pulled up and eaten, and whatever had come in, left through a broken hole in the fence leading into the woods behind our house.
Curiosity got the better of me and I decided to track the creature. But after I put pants on of course.

10 Minutes Later
I stepped back out into the warm, morning sun fully awake and ready for anything. I dressed in black chino shorts, a red and gray horizontal striped t-shirt, and red vans. Oh, before I go any further, I'll introduce myself. I'm Eli (Elijah) Camryss, a 15 year old guy. I'm tall for my age, about 5'11", with jet black hair, dark brown eyes, a naturally tan skin tone, and I'm pretty fit thanks to the gym, and thanks to my need to impress girls. Lol:P I live in the little town of Hope Springs in the New Sinnoh region.
Originally just Sinnoh, unexplainable disasters destroyed the entire region, killing many people and pokemon in it. And before you ask, no, it was not another war. Several years after, the survivors (including my parents) sought to restore the region to it's former glory, and now here we are 25 years after the tragedies, bigger and better than ever!
When I was 6, my father went missing while on an scientific investigation. Both my parents worked with several pokemon professors and my dad helped them out with field work from time to time. Many people say that he left us, but my mother and I refuse to believe that. There was no one more devoted to his family than my dad was. Anyways, back to the real story.
Looking at the hole in the fence, I knew the pokemon couldn't have been too big, maybe 2 ft tall. In school I learned that if you want to track a pokemon you have to act like a pokemon. So getting down on my hands and knees I squeezed my way through the narrow opening. The grass was much taller on this side, but that meant an easier trail for me to follow. Surveying the area I saw a trail of trampled grass leading off into the thick brush.
A snapped twig here and smushed berries there lead me on for about 15 minutes until I heard a shout nearby. "Rioo!" I rushed forward to where I heard it and came across a small clearing with two pokemon.
One, a bipedal blue and black dog with silver bumps on the back of it's hands, and black teardrop shaped things hanging from either side of it's head, was hunched over holding a couple berries. I had never seen a pokemon like this before. It was also badly injured and it looked starved. I guessed this was the intruder.
The second was a green plant figure with a blue rose where it's left hand should have been and a red rose replacing it's right. It had a yellow stripe down the middle, leaves on each shoulder, and three sharp points on top of it's head. A Roselia. It stared fiercely at the unknown pokemon and seconds after, it shot a poison sting attack at him. Small purple needles flew out of it's roses piercing the skin of its opponent. He screamed in pain, "Riaar!"
"Stop it!" I yelled. Immediately the two looked at me, unfortunately that also meant I was Roselia's next target. I didn't care though, I couldn't stand to watch Roselia bully the blue pokemon. She then whipped up a flurry of leaves and directed them towards me. Razor Leaf. I tried to jump to the side but one still got my arm leaving a small cut. It wasn't too bad.
Running over to the blue pokemon's side, it stared up at me with a confused look on it's face as if to ask 'Why are you helping me?' I scooped him up in my arms and turned towards Roselia who then snarled at me, "Roseliaa."
"Leave. Him. Alone." Now I was mad. If I had pokemon of my own I would have sent them out to get rid of the Thorn Pokemon, but I didn't. She glared at me. Step by step I inched away from Roselia, waiting to make a run for it. I knew that the little guy in my arms wouldn't last much longer if I didn't get him to a pokemon center fast.
I thought I was finally safe to escape when I foolishly tripped over a tree root onto my back. Roselia saw that as a chance to strike. She rushed forward showing no relent and tackled into my stomach as I tried to stand and hold onto the blue pokemon. The wind knocked out of me as I was slammed back down coughing, and the blue pokemon was sent sprawling out of my arms. She took a step back and pointed her roses at me preparing for Poison Sting. I closed my eyes and prepared for the worst. Nothing came.
Cautiously, I opened my eyes and grinned at the sight. Roselia had just been attacked by the blue pokemon using a Headbutt attack to her gut. The force of the attack sent her rolling backwards leaving her slightly dazed. As she tried to stand back up, the blue pokemon attacked again with an attack I didn't know. It opened it's hand and it glowed yellow forming a small dagger. He slammed it into Roselia's chest forcing her several feet into the air resulting in her crashing against a tree trunk. The Roselia was knocked out cold. I gasped in disbelief at the strength of the small, blue pokemon, "Whoa." She deserved it though, she got a taste of her own medicine.
After the battle was won, the blue pokemon turned to look at me. I cheered then noticed something was wrong. His face was a sickly purple color, and seconds after, he collapsed.

You guys should know who the little blue pokemon is by now. If not... Then you're lost:P
I have high hopes for my story and can't wait to share the rest with you! I will hopefully be able to upload at least once a week, but with school starting it may be a little tough at first.
Also, please give me any positive or negative feedback to this chapter, I really want to know what you guys think of it. All criticism will help me improve future writing. Thanks!
