The next hour was a blur. I arrived at the town's pokemon center out of breath. "Nurse Joy! Please..." She rushed out with a big, pink, oval shaped pokemon with a pouch on it's stomach holding an egg. It had dark pink locks hanging from it's head, and it wore a little nurses hat. It was a Chansey, a common nurse's assistant.
Nurse Joy gasped at the pokemon in my arms. "Wh- where did you find that pokemon?!" She had a slightly shocked look on her face.
"Long story, but basically it was attacked by another pokemon in the woods." I explained, "Can you help him?" I didn't want to waste any more time.
"Of course, follow me." She replied as she took the pokemon from my arms.
"Chansey!" Chansey agreed.
Nurse Joy lead us to a back room and placed the blue pokemon in a small bed covered by a clear tube. Several pushed buttons later, a red light scanned the pokemon, and several substances were sprayed over him. I guessed they were healing potions. A dark purple light flashed over the machine which worried Nurse Joy. "Oh dear. Please wait here, I need to call the professor. Chansey, you wait here and monitor Riolu."
So that was the pokemon's name. I had never heard of it before. And why was the professor needed? Nurse Joy was the best when it came to healing pokemon. This must be more serious than I thought. I was scared for Riolu.
A few minutes later, Nurse Joy walked back in, "Eli, your mother is on her way to come transport Riolu to the professor. She said you may accompany her to the lab if you'd like."
"Okay, thanks." I muttered. I wonder what really happened to this pokemon. A normal pokemon attack couldn't have caused this much damage. I turned and walked out of the room. On my wrist was my X-Transceiver, a watch/camera phone. I dialed a number and waited. After a few rings, someone answered.
"Hey Eli, what's up?" A boy my age greeted. He had short, blonde hair, hazel colored eyes, and a white skin tone.
"A lot." I replied, " Can you meet me in front of the pokemon lab in 20 minutes? I need to tell you something."
"Sure. Is everything okay? You look a bit worried." The boy asked. I'm not very good at hiding my emotions.
"Sorta. I'll explain there. See ya."
"Okay, see ya." We hung up just as my mom pulled up in one of the lab's work trucks. It was sorta like a pokemon ambulance.
I helped my mom and Nurse Joy place the machine with Riolu in the back of the truck. Nurse Joy and Chansey stayed behind to continue running the pokemon center while my mom and I rode to the pokemon lab. "Honey, tell me everything that's happened this morning." My mom said as we started driving. Starting from waking up to the noises, I explained every detail (minus forgetting to put pants on) to her. "Okay. Do you know what kind of pokemon you just found?"
"I heard Nurse Joy call it Riolu, but that's it. I didn't even know a pokemon like this existed until today." I replied, "First Nurse Joy seemed surprised, now you. Is this pokemon special or something?"
"The professor will explain to both of us. I know just as much as you do about this pokemon, but yes, it is very special." My mom told me, "Anyways, are you sure the cut is fine? Razor Leaf can hurt." She continued on with a whole lecture on wild pokemon safety the rest of the drive. Moms...

15 minutes later
We arrived at a large white building on the edge of town. It was encircled by a fence with different kinds of pokemon roaming the grounds, and several scientists observing them. We drove around back where a team of people were waiting for us. In front of that group was a man in his early 40's with blonde hair, light green eyes, and a slim figure wearing a lab coat, Professor Spruce.
