Rose's POV

"My mom just told me that her and my dad were getting a divorce. I couldn't handle breaking down in front of her so I went here." I held back tears.

"Aw, Rose." He hugged me.

"I don't know what to do, Gus." I cried.

"I honestly have never been through that but if you need to come cry to me then go ahead. Ok, Rosie?" He hugged me tighter than before.

"Rosie?" I chuckled and pulled away.

"Yea. It's a nickname." He smiled.

"Now you need a nickname." I said.

"Peep." He shrugged.

"Why Peep?" I asked.

"Its a name everyone I know calls me. My mom called me it since I was a baby." He chuckled.

"Ok, Peep." I hugged him. It felt like he was the only true friend. The only friend I could actually go to. Whenever I try to talk to Jada she'll either hold it against me or say she doesn't care.

Home

"Rose Mia Arquette!" My mom yelled when I walked in the door.

"What, mom?! Huh? What do you want? To scold me for breaking down? I went to the park because I didn't wanna break down in front of you!" I yelled.

"Yea well we're all going through a hard time so cut me some slack and actually answer my texts. I was worried sick!" She lifted her phone up.

"Whatever." I rolled my eyes and stormed to my room. She and my dad had a really thick French accent. I barely have one at all. You have to really listen in for it. If you don't know I'm French then you won't even notice. Instead of going to sleep right away, I stayed up and went on my phone. Then I fell asleep at 12:00 AM.

So I'm at the library right now. I'm working on homework. My Sweet 16 is in two days. I'm inviting all of my friends to come over. It took a while to buy all the decorations and it costed a lot of money. I'm basically inviting all of the Junior year people. I even invited Gus. We've been hanging out so much lately. I've been trying to avoid Jada since she slapped me. Today, I have no tutor sessions that I know of. Gus never said he wanted to come so I'm not gonna sweat it. Then I heard someone clear their throat bringing me out of my head.

"Hello?" She waved her hand in my face.

"Oh hi Jada." I stood up.

"Who do you think you are?" She scoffed at me.

"Uh I don't think, I know I'm Rose." I put my hand on my hip.

"Look, I can ruin your life in seconds. Are you forgetting who you told all your secrets to? Exactly. Me. So maybe I can just-" She pulled her phone out and went to twitter. "'OMG did you hear the news? Rose admits that she's using the new kid Gus for clout.'"

"But I never said that!" I tried to stop her.

"The people at school don't know that. Who are they gonna believe, me a gorgeous skinny Asian who every loves or you. A French girl who moved here when she was two and was poor." She chuckled.

"I'm sorry, Jada. I'll do anything just please delete the tweet." I begged.

"Good. Don't hang out with Gus anymore. You can tutor him. But when I'm around, don't even think about it." She smiled evily and slapped me, causing me to call to my knees. I cried as she kicked my stomach. I just laid there and tried to catch my breath. "Bye, bye Rose. Have fun. Oh and also, don't think about even trying to tell anyone about this. I will again, ruin your life."

"Rose!" Gus called out as Jada skipped away. "Are you ok?"

"Yea. I'm fine." I smiled forcefully.

"What did she do?" He asked. Jada came back over.

"Oh, she just told me that she was using you for clout. But hey if you ever wanna hang out with me just hit me up. I beat her up because I thought it was so rude the names she was calling you." Jada smirked evily and then finally left.

"Its not true, Gus. She hates me." I cried.

"I know. I believe you." He sat me down on his lap.

"Why are you here anyways?" I asked.

"You know, the tutoring." He chuckled.

"Right." I mentally slapped myself. When I grabbed my bag, I reached for my books but I accidentally dropped everything out. My weed, cocaine, vape, lighter, bong, and cigarette box fell out. I didn't want him to know I smoked so I quickly put everything away, hoping he didn't notice. But when I sat back up, he looked at me and smiled a bit. Then he grabbed his bag and took out his bag of weed.

"You're not the only one." He chuckled.

"Yea well no one knows I do it so please don't say anything." I begged.

"I won't." He sighed.
