Chapter 6: Tutoring

Rose's POV

We finished studying so we worked on our homework and took pictures. It was funny because we were using Snapchat filters and there were some really funny ones. We kept getting shushed by the librarian. Yea she for sure hate us now. But we helped each other with homework and accomplished a lot. It was really fun. It was like a vacation from the harsh reality that my parents are splitting up there marriage.

"So you gonna be at my party?" I asked.

"Depends. Will there be drugs?" He asked.

"And alcohol." I smiled.

"Perfect." He chuckled.

"Yea. My mom is gonna be out of town for my birthday. She just left today. She wanted to take a break from everything that's been happening. So no parents. You can sleep over if you'd like." I shrugged.

"That sounds fun." He smiled.

"Bring any drugs you have." I suggested.

"Of course I'm going to." He said.

"It's gonna be so much fun!" I hugged him.

"If your mom is out of town, who's gonna take you home?" He asked.

"Well even if she wasn't out of town, I drive myself home." I said.

"Oh. You can drive?" He asked shocked.

"Yea. I can drop you off." I shrugged.

"Ok. Or can I come over?" He smiled, hoping I'd say yes.

"Yea. If you want. My dad has been living with his new girlfriend so it's just gonna be me, my sister, and my brother. But they won't walk in if I lock my door. Not like we'll be doing anything nasty but my brother doesn't know I do drugs." I said.

"Oh. I'm gonna call my mom." He pulled out his phone as we left the library. "Hey mama. Yes I went to the tutoring. No I wasn't doing drugs. Anyways, I was wondering if I could go to Rose's house? You know, my friend? Just for a little while. Ma! You're gross! Ok. Bye I love you too."

"What'd she say that was so gross?" I asked.

"She said that if it comes to it, then wear a condom so I don't get you pregnant." He rolled his eyes.

"Ha! I love your mom and I haven't even met her. But uh maybe it will come to it." I whispered the last part so he couldn't hear it.

"Huh? I didn't hear the last thing you said." He raised an eyebrow.

"Oh nothing important." I smiled innocently.

My house

"Paul! Crystal! Come down!" I called out. Crystal came down with her ear buds in and looked annoyed. While Paul just looked confused on why there was a man standing in our living room. But it was just Gus. "Ok, so this is one of my many friends, Gus. Gus, this is Crystal and Paul. Paul is a Senior at our school. Crystal is a Freshman at our school. Crystal, Paul, Gus is my new friend who is in my grade. He's new."

"Hi Gus." Crystal smiled forcefully and walked into her room.

"Whatever." Paul rolled his eyes and went to his room.

"Sorry, they're a bit rude." I chuckled.

"Nah it's fine." He shrugged. We worked on homework for a little while then smoked. We got really high. It was fun just dangerous how high we got. But it was nice getting to actually open up to someone.
