Ending Three | White Ribbon - 3rd POV
(Y/N) hated the situation she was in exceedingly right now, they just wanted peace not to be hunted down like a wild animal who is hiding from its prey. (Y/N)'s boring life at home would be a bliss compared to this but unfortunately, she doesn't even know if she'll be able to experience it again.
Fright and almost a sense of anticipation spread throughout (Y/N)'s chest at the clicking of heeled shoes, "Come out, come out from where ever you are!" Monika's voice bounced and rang off of the walls of the corridor she walked down boldly, she watched and listened firmly to any sign of movement.
The tense in the air circulated even sharper than before causing the (H/C) girl more anxiety while she tried to press her body further into the back of the metal cabinet, which to be frank was impossible. The creaking of the closet was similar to the sound of a loud clack in the dead silent room, the footsteps that were once vibrant in noise are stopped and quiet outside the classroom that (Y/N) is hiding in.
She clamped her (S/T) shaking hand over her quivering lips and squeezed her eyes shut as the door to the room swung open, "I know you are in here, my sweet (N/N)~." The green-eyed girl sang softly, then continued to hum at the same pitch while searching the room. Objects slammed opened and closed, then the closet next to the one (Y/N) was thrown open causing it to bang against the other closet door; the sudden sound plus friction caused their eyes to shoot open and to jump out of surprise.
Monika let out a little giggle as she went to open the next closest, "I found you~." She spoke, before the chestnut-haired girl's hand touched the cold handle the door flew open and (Y/N) came bolting out, heading for the classroom door with a shriek. Monika stumbled back in shock, but only sufficiently recognizing what happened after the girl she had been looking for moved out the door.
-
(Y/N) continued to race down the hallway of the virtual building as fast as her tired legs could handle, she didn't know where she was heading or wherever to go; all she did know was somewhere Monika was not.
After turning down another seemingly endless corridor the anxious female could hear a distant slam of the classroom door that she was once in, signaling that (Y/N) had to either pick up the pace or find another hiding spot. She didn't know how much longer her legs could go without any rest, but they decided to push forward with the overwhelming looming horror of being caught motivating their every move.
Fleeing for what felt like hours, except was actually about only thirty minutes. (Y/N) came to a crossroad where the corridor she was in separated into three other halls.
One of the halls went straight forward, another went left and the third went right, (Y/N) had to come to a resolution on where to go. She didn't know how far behind the emerald-eyed girl was from here and most certainly didn't want to find out, so (Y/N) needed to make the decision fast.
They attempted to peer down each of the hallways to see if she would come across anything promising or helpful; unfortunately, luck was not on (Y/N)'s side as it seemed all of three corridors looked the same at first glance. All of the halls had flickering ceiling lights with scattered broken glass on the floors and peeling white paint walls, a strong smell of mold and an eerie feeling accompanied each of them as well.
(Y/N)'s thoughts were suddenly interrupted at the familiar sound of clicking heels and a soft humming likely coming from the beginning of the corridor, this startled the (E/C) eyed girl into randomly choosing the hallway that is going right. A tight ball of stress and dread filled her chest as chills ran up their aching (S/T) legs, all while (Y/N) treaded forward with quiet light steps since they didn't want to alert the other female of her location.
(Y/N) needed to find a place to hide to be able to rest her body from the constant running, but that would be hard to do since the classroom doors that line the walls she had checked lead to a dark pit of nothingness. (Y/N) could do nothing more than to walk forward unless she wanted to be met with an unpredictable fate at the hands of Monika. The (H/C) girl knew she would be caught eventually by the other if she doesn't find a way out of this virtual world, though at this point (Y/N) doubted the existence of there even being an exit. The more she walked down the endless corridor the more she felt her hope for escaping this hell sway, it seemed so impossible at this point; like a distant dream that had been crushed by the cold truth of reality.
(Y/N) was just so tired.
-
When the drained girl was finally about to sit down on the floor and give up, she stumbled upon a staircase leading downwards to another floor of the virtual building. This caused a surge of determination to fill (Y/N) as she made a sprint down the stairs in glee, dozens of thoughts came racing through the (E/C) eyed girl's head especially the hope of this possibly being the route to her way out. She paced down the seemingly new corridor that they had discovered with the newfound optimism they charged on, hoping to find new things. (Y/N)'s once enthusiasm turned into despair after figuring out that it was the same as the last hallway she was in, they were exact to the places the glass was shattered on the windows looking out into the abyss, to the chipping of color that adorns the walls.
This revelation for (Y/N) was devastating, had all that walking and pushing forward been really for nothing? She felt like if she continued any farther she would lose her mind, she was just delaying the inevitable. (Y/N) felt as though there was no point in even trying anymore, so she wouldn't. The (H/L) (H/C) haired girl made her way over to one of the walls of the hallway and sat down where there wasn't any glass, (Y/N) was done playing this tiresome game of cat and mouse.
"Monika!" She yelled out with all her might, hoping the other would hear the girl's voice as it radiated off the walls. Soon enough (Y/N) heard the oh so familiar humming and hurried steps of coral brown-haired female, "What's with the sudden outburst? Are you finally going to give in?!~" Monika spoke cheerfully, a look of deviation was present in her bright eyes as she stared down at (Y/N) exhausted form after making her way in front of them. "I just don't want either of us to get hurt and there doesn't appear to be any sign of an exit anywhere." started the (S/T) girl then continued as she looked up into Monika's eyes, "I see no use in running anymore, you can take me." (Y/N) finished with a frown.
This made the emerald-eyed girl smile widely, "I'm so glad you finally understand, now we can be together forever!" Monika ended with a light giggle whilst she pulled on the white ribbon undoing the bow in her hair, causing her ponytail to fall. After pulling it out fully Monika proceeded to wrap the ribbon around (Y/N) wrist to in some way act as handcuffs, then once tying a knot in the ribbon to fully secure it the girl teleported them both to a classroom that only had two seating desk.
"I can't wait to share this world with you forever, (Y/N)!~" Monika cheerfully spoke as she hugged her now unconscious form...
