Lauren was a pretty normal woman, she lived in a decent size house in the suburbs and had a job that paid her pretty well. Most people would assume that Lauren had no problems. But her story is not as easy as that. When Lauren was just a little girl, she lived in a high class family, she lived in a mansion in Los Angeles, a happy life with her very religious parents and her two siblings, Chris and Taylor Jauregui. Even though her family was highly religious, that didn't mean that she was. She knew she was different from the rest of her family, and there was one small reason for it. She liked girls. Lauren knew that for her whole life, she never dreamt of marrying "The Perfect Guy". Instead she dreamt of marrying a normal girl, a beautiful and smart one of course. As she grew older she was getting more and more worried since her parents wanted to set her up with the son of another religious family. Lauren couldn't let that happen so she told her parents what she really felt.
It was a very bad idea. Once those words came out of Lauren's mouth, his father started to scream at her and kicked her out of the house. Luckily Lauren still had a debit card and her phone with her, she was so sick of all of the bullshit her family made her go through, that she decided to buy a plane ticket and reserved a hotel for two weeks in Miami Florida.
She cried through the whole plane ride, she felt devastated, she seriously thought that her father loved her more than what he loved his religion. The worst part for Lauren was that her mother didn't even said anything, she just stood there quietly, like a decoration.
Once Lauren arrived to Miami, she immediately went and bought some clothes before her father froze the card. She obviously didn't buy expensive clothing, she never liked that anyway. She just went to the Walmart that was closest to the hotel and bought some clothes there, she needed something kind of formal for a job interview. Lauren knew that she wasn't going to find a suit in there but anything that wasn't her pajamas was clearly better.
Lauren also got plenty of food and beverages, she didn't knew how long it was going to be before she had money again. Lauren wasn't stupid and she knew that the hotel wasn't going to let her get food in, so she bought two big suitcases, one for her clothes, and the other one for the food she bought.
Once she finished paying for all of the things she bought, she called a taxi to pick her up. While waiting for the taxi she took 4,000 dollars out of the ATM. That was the maximum amount she could take, so she had to be fine with it. The taxi arrived and she put all of the things inside and told the driver where she was heading. Lauren was mesmerized with Miami. It was just so pretty.
The taxi ride was pretty much silent, as expected, Lauren wasn't in a really big mood of talking, so she just did none of it. Apparently the taxi driver felt the same things, because he didn't talk in the whole duration of the journey. When the taxi finally arrived to the hotel where Lauren was going to stay, she got out and started to take all of her things out of the back of the car. Once she got everything out, she payed the taxi driver with a 20 dollar bill and told him to keep the change.
Lauren thought that the hotel she was staying in was at least in good conditions, but once she entered the establishment, she noticed that it was nothing like all of the pictures she saw online. She went up to the front desk and got the room she had reserved, then she got into the weird smelling elevator and closed her eyes for the duration of the elevator (which was obviously not that long).
She opened her room just to be surprised with more bad things. first of all, her room smelt really weird, almost like marijuana. The bathroom didn't even have a door to it, which didn't matter to much because she didn't have a roommate. She could go on and on about the bad things that she could find in her room, but she didn't want to think about that. She was happy that she had somewhere to stay, and that she was very far away from her homophobic father.
In that same week, Lauren got a job interview as a manager in a local clothing store, she was very lucky that she actually had an university degree. Her job obviously payed very well, so once her first pay check came in, she was able to rent a smart apartment of her own.
Lauren eventually got a raise, but she decided not to waste her money on stupid things, like renting a bigger apartment or getting a car she knew it was going to be worthless in a couple of years. Instead she was saving up to buy a good house in the outside of Miami.
After a year and a half of working as a manager, she was finally able to apply for a mortgage for her new house. She got accepted and she was now the proud owner of a house in the Miami, Florida.
Once she bought her house, things were pretty normal for Lauren's life. She was a 26 year old single woman, with an university degree, a very stable job, and a very good place to live. Her life had no drama, some people could say it was perfect. But because nothing can be good for a long time, and changes are always present, Lauren's life changed completely, and it was all because of the girl next door.
