"Oh my god, Shut up!"
I yell as I shoot up into a sitting position. Every morning, the noise of death fills my ears at Five AM sharp. Honestly, My ears hurt and it makes me groggy and upset every morning.
I tried throwing it out my window, but of course, my mom decides to get me a new one. This might be unexpected, but my mother is the mayor- yes a female mayor.
I continue thinking to myself as I walk into the large luxury bathroom. I strip down, walking into the shower after letting my red hair fall down to my back.
Straight, boring hair.

I dress in a regular white hoodie crop top, black ripped jeans with chains and black combat boots. My hair is hanging loosely around my shoulders, flowing with the wind that blows through my window.
I speed walk down the red carpeted wide stairs and into the large living area of my mansion. My place is the largest in this town.
It takes a good amount of space, considering it is a mansion after all. My mother lives in the right wing and I live in the left.
Our mansion is so big, it has a library with over 20,000 books, a large kitchen, 20 rooms and what a regular and comfortable home should on both left and the right wing! The right wing is so colourful it hurts my eyes, like neon yellow there, bright orange here, Oh lord all mighty.
Mine has a nicely decorated and it is much more pleasing to the eye. Soft red carpets, spotless white wallpaper, midnight black couches, abstract paintings on the walls, all sorts of decor with different bright and dark colours.
Mom jogs up to me, dresses in her usual, professional attire. Baby blue blouse with a black designer blazer and black pencil skirt. Her blonde hair is put in a tight bun sitting atop her head. She doesn't look a day over 27.
"Good morning." she says. I nod, replying with a barely audible 'good morning'. "Alright, Rue-" she begins, handing me a large book. "-go read! I'm heading to work. Remember, Get some breakfast and eat properly this time." A worried look crosses her face.
"If you don't, you'll grow weaker. You don't need to repeat what happened last time, honey." I smile, pulling her into an embrace.
"I won't, mother," I pull away. "I've learnt my lesson." My mother smacks my arm, a playful scowl on her face. "You better have, young lady!" she chuckles.
"I'm going to work now. See you, honey." I smile back at her, and she closes the large oak doors, her heels clicking loudly.
I sit down on the couch, book in hand. I gaze at the far too familiar old leather book cover.
"The Rules Of The Paranormal Town," that was hand written by my father himself, whom I haven't met and don't know the name of. I wonder if the spirits were nice or picky back in those days. I carefully open the book, peering at the neat handwriting.
