I open my eyes when warmth is again on my skin. I'm surrounded by large, thick trees. I looked up, and a huge castle-like palace made out of black crystal stands before me. I start walking towards the palace with the boys, whom have already started walking.
They walk a long way ahead of me, engaged in their own conversation. I come to the view of the palace. It's made from deep black crystals, decorated with many shining gems and diamonds. The dim light of the moon glistens off the enchanting crystal.
I look up, and two moons greet me. Yes, two freaking moons. I stare at them, dazed. I snap out of it, and I realise the boys have entered. I walk forward, and I try walking past the guards.
The guards cross their spears in my way so I can't get it. "Identify yourself," one of the guards says. A shiver runs up my spine. I look at him, and his hat blocks my view of him, and his view of me. Same for the other guard.
I scoff, stepping back. "Look at me, maybe you'll be able to tell," I mock him. "Identify yourself, lady," A smile appears on my lips out of disbelief. Well, this is the palace. What can I expect.
I take a daring step closer to the guard, and he visibly shivers. "Let me through," The guard shakes his head. "Identify yourself," he says. I eye his hat, and I scoff. "How demanding," I mutter.
I'm angry. I'm out in the forest and I'm supposed to be here for the Prince, yet here I am, arguing with a palace guard. "Fine, don't let me in," I say.
I easily lift the spears and I walk in. The guards turn their heads, following me so they can drag me back out. Another wave of annoyance takes over my attitude. "I'm here for the king, and my name is Rudy Blackwood."
I'm frustrated. Very. I already know they're just guards, and they have to do their jobs. I look over my shoulder, and I meet the guard's eye. "Remember my face, gentlemen. I'll see you soon." I say, turning back to walk into the palace.
After I'm a good distance away, I try to hold in a laugh. I shake my head. Those men got scared by a girl like me, and they call them guards. Ha, I can't help it, really.
I walk up to the large- at least ten feet tall- crystal doors. The guards seem to be fidgeting a little with their swords. I furrow my eyebrows.
Did I over-react?
Of course I did, idiot!
I take another step towards the overly large doors, and I push them open, readying myself for an adventure I'll never be able to forget. I know I'll never forget it. Do you know why?
I'm not used to people fearing me.
Then again, who said anyone did.
That reassures me a little. A puff of warm air hits me. It has a slight smell of alcohol, but it really doesn't bother me. I walk inside, and all eyes are on me. Everyone is dressed in bright colours, and I'm the only one with black clothing. And what people are staring at is my hair. My unusually red hair, and my violet eyes.
The room looks like a ballroom, and also like a club. I glare at everyone who looks at me in the eye. I'm offended with the eyes on me, looking me up and down and staring. They're burning holes through me,, and I don't really appreciate the attention just for walking through a door.
Cason runs up to me, putting him arm around my shoulders. "Hey Rudy. Vanessa is dying to see you, and my older brother seems to want to meet with you soon," he says. Almost everyone gasps in the room, and I raise a brow.
"Good evening. This is the infamous child kicked out of heaven, Rudy. Say hi to them, Rue." Cason says. I look at him, and I turn to the large crowd.
