{Are You There, God? It's Me, Dean Winchester}

꧁꧂

After the fire that killed your boyfriend, Patrick, you joined Sam and Dean on the hunt to find what killed him, their mother, and Sam's girlfriend, Jess. Their father later joined the three of you. Arguments brewed between the three Winchesters, and you steered clear of it. You were good friends with them but not enough to get into the family drama. All drama aside, the four of you did manage to find the demon responsible for the tragedies.

Finding him was difficult already, but to kill him was damn near impossible. All four of you were battered and defeated very quickly. Dean was stabbed and when you all got away, Azazel sent a demon after you all. On the way to the hospital, a freight truck T-boned Dean's Impala. The impact sent you flying to the window, rendering you unconscious. Blood began trickling down from your forehead. Sam was the only one who regained consciousness.

Sam was fine, barely had any injuries. John broke his right arm. You had a concussion and several stitches, but you lived. Dean, on the other hand, was fighting for his life. He slipped into a coma while Sam and John argued once more, forcing you to come in between for the first time for Dean's sake. Then, Dean woke up with his wounds healed as if nothing happened, but John was laying on the floor dead. It crossed your mind that John may have made a deal with Azazel to save Dean.

Sam was kidnapped by Azazel and brought to a ghost town with people like him, whose been infected with demon blood. They were brought to kill each other and the last person standing was to be a right hand man to Azazel. Sam was killed and Dean exchanged his soul to bring his little brother to life. The older Winchester was only given a year, instead of the usual ten years.

There was an upcomer named Lilith, the first demon created. She wanted Sam dead. She possessed Ruby's vessel and allowed Dean to become hellhound chow. Dean died and went to Hell. After his death, you lost contact with Sam, but remained in contact with Bobby. Four months later, you received a call from Dean but you went off on the person on the other line. You were pissed that someone could play a cruel prank on you like that. Days later, he showed up on your front door. Your first thought was demon so you splashed holy water in his face. No reaction. Then, you thought shapeshifter, so you slash his arm with a pure silver knife. Also, no reaction.

"I'm the real deal, (Y/N)," he said.

"How the..? What the...? Where the...?" you muttered.

"That's what I'd like to know," he replied.

"Does Bobby know?"

"Yeah, did the same thing."

"Can't be too careful, right? And Sam?"

"We're tracking him down, Pontiac, Illinois."

"What are we waiting for?" you asked, gathering your concealed hunter's weapons.

After getting Sam from Pontiac, you three meet up at Bobby's house. The elder man was researching lore on angels. Sam and Dean discussed on the existence of angels. Dean was very skeptical about them. Sam only pointed out the flaws in Dean's argument.

"You two chuckleheads want to keep arguing religion, or do you want to take a look at this?" Bobby interrupts them. The three of you gather around Bobby to listen to his findings. In summary, Castiel's story checks out but one question still lingered within Dean.

Why would they give a crap about him?

"Fine, what do we know about angels?" Dean inquired.

Bobby carried a stack of books in front of him. "Start reading."

"You're gonna get me some pie," Dean instructs Sam. You chuckled, picked up a book, and began reading.

Some time later, Bobby and Dead start packing your equipment when Sam returns from the store. Bobby approaches Sam and tells him to keep the engine running. There was fellow hunter Bobby wanted to check up on one state over, claiming he hasn't heard back from her for three days.

"I'll just stay here, reading up on angel lore," you tell them.

"Alright, stay safe. Don't do anything stupid," Dean says.

"Why? You're taking all the stupid with you," you smirk.

Hours later, the ringing of your phone awakened you. You rubbed your eyes and answered the incoming call. It was Sam, updating you on the situation. The hunter, Olivia Lowry, was found dead. She died in an unnatural way, which isn't surprising to another hunter. They said it was a ghost, due to unfinished salt line on the floor, bullet shells scattered, and the EMF inches from her. The brothers were headed to another location and they sent you an address of another known hunter.

The four of you regrouped at Bobby's place. All the reports were the same. Dead hunters and incomplete salt lines. Being near Bobby's home, you arrived first. You set your belongings down and continued to read the book you were reading. Suddenly, the lights flicker. Your eyes look up from the book and look at your surroundings. The room suddenly grew cold, and puff of chilly air escaped your mouth. All clear signs of ghost. You grab your shotgun loaded with rock salt bullets and a bulk of salt.

The radio began to tune by itself, then the song played. That one Switchfoot song Mandy Moore covered for A Walk to Remember, titled "Only Hope." Patrick was the only person who knows about your love for the movie and song. It still is your guilty pleasure. The "original and better Fault in Our Stars" as you liked to call it.

"Hello, mon cheri."
