Lex

Today was our wedding, and it set everything. Some families couldn't make it because of the short notice, but some liked Uncle Jonas, Uncle Cayson, and their wives, along with Uncle Jasper and Uncle Marco.

I was getting ready when I stopped and looked in the mirror. I would marry by now if it weren't for the accident. Not remembering anyone or myself was rough. How couldn't I remember these people? Especially Piper of all people.

After remembering, my parents called Uncle Jasper over to get answers. When he arrived, he talked to me while Uncle Marco harassed Uncle Nixon. I chuckled at the thought of those two.

Uncle Jasper said that sometimes one little thing could trigger memories, without us knowing it, like music, conversation, pictures, or maybe a particular smell. There's no rhyme or reason to it; it just does.

Whatever the case was, I didn't care. I was happy to remember Piper, to know that I would finally share my life with her.

I heard someone knock on my door as I looked up to see Dad standing there.

"You will be late," he mentioned to me as I silently chuckled to myself. There's nothing new there. I was always the last to arrive at things just like the day I was born.

Grabbing my tuxedo coat, I pulled it on and buttoned it up, then I followed him downstairs. Ma was already waiting for us. I walked over as she smiled at me and hugged her. Our hug lingered for a while, and that's fine with me. I love my ma, and she was everything to me.

"Mags, we got to get going before Nix starts blowing up my phone. You know how impatient he is," Dad reminded her.

"Who cares? My baby is getting married. If I want to hug him for a while, I will," Ma answered as I chuckled at her response.

Ring, ring, ring

Dad answers his phone. "Yeah, I know. We're on our way. No, I don't care if you're waiting. Mags had a moment with our boy. Can I help it you two can't get your shit together? That's not my problem. Fine, we'll be there shortly." Hanging up his phone, he looks at us. "We need to go before Nix has a major attitude."

"When doesn't he have a major attitude?" Ma asked him.

"You got the point there," Dad agreed as the three of us pulled on our winter coats to head to the church.

We arrived and made our way inside, albeit with sliding all over the place. You got to love Michigan in winter.

As soon as I entered the church, Kain and Kaiden grabbed me, dragging me to another room.

"Do you mind?" I asked them.

"When we have to listen to the old man bitch about your tardiness, no, we don't," Kain retorted.

I don't know why they were so uptight, considering I'm one half of the wedding couple. If I don't show it, there isn't a wedding.

We walked into the room to see Michael, Major, and Maverick waiting for us. My sisters, sister-in-law, and along with some chick Kain is dating, was in another room with Piper.

We finished up quickly as Dad announced it was time to take our place. The six of us made our way to the altar, getting situated when Nixon looked at me. "It's about time. I would grow older than I already am."

"Pft, you're already old," Kain retorted, pissing Nixon off.

Yeah, this should be a fun wedding; that's if the minister doesn't kill the best man before we say, "I do."

Dad had to keep Nixon from beating his offspring while reminding him that he was still a minister. I had to tell Kain to knock his shit off. He may be my best man, but if he didn't watch it, my sisters would beat the hell out of him. Yeah, they had been waiting for this day to arrive, plus Lyric is moody with pregnancy.

We stood up at the altar as the music started. My sisters and Kain's girlfriend Erin walked down the aisle first. I stood there as Piper emerged with her dad. Everyone stood as I watched her walk down the aisle.

Everything we had been through together as we grew up, falling in love, and dealing with all the chaos led up to this one moment. The thing about our love was, nothing could destroy it, no matter what.

They say when it destines you to love someone, your heart will always remain with them. I know mine did.

Mike places her hand in mine.

"Who gives this woman to this man?" Nixon asked him.

"Her mother and I do," Mike replied as he kissed Piper's cheek and sat down next to Nancy.

We turned to face Nixon.

"Dearly beloved, I gather us today to unite these two in holy matrimony, even though it took us forever to get here," he declared as Dad groaned, and Ma rolled her eyes.

"They say two people come together, and their hearts live in a way that nothing can tear them apart. Then sometimes they just needing locking in a room, not once but twice," Nixon announced as people laughed.

"Since Lex likes to take his sweet time deciding, we will skip the whole objection thing. I doubt any of us object to this," he told everyone and us.

It would be a long ceremony.

"Well, I object," someone declared.

We all stopped and looked to see Marco standing up. What the hell?

"Are you freaking kidding me?" Nixon groaned.

"Kidding, carry on," Marco grinned as he sat back down.

Nixon became annoyed quickly.

"Nix, ignore him and keep going," Dad advises him.

"Anyway, since we both know that you two love each other and man, do you love each other. If you didn't, you wouldn't expect a bundle of joy, you unholy souls. Do you take each other to be husband and wife?" Nixon asked us.

We started to say something when he cut us off.

"You do. We will skip the whole for richer or poorer, blah, blah, blah, because well we know you both do. Listen, I will be honest with you both; we all knew you two needed to get together. The problem was this one couldn't make a move," Nixon said as he pointed at me, "and you had that tool it involved you with at one point."

We both looked at each other.

"But it didn't matter. You two end up together mattered. With those warm thoughts, I now pronounce you both husband and wife. Now kiss her, you twit so that we can celebrate," he announced as I was more than happy to kiss my wife.

I pulled Piper to me and kissed her passionately. There was something about kissing your spouse that made things different. That and the fact, we finally got here.

I pulled back and looked at her. "I love you, Mrs. Gray."

"I love you more, Mr. Gray," she smiled as I pulled her into another kiss. Everyone clapped and cheered. Now it was time to celebrate.
